Ive been a worship and creative pastor for the last 15 years. I love production so lots of these types of videos fill my feed. What impresses me most about you is how humble and servant hearted you come across. Never lose that. God has given you a real gift in demonstrating its ok to be vulnerable and transparent about learning, making mistakes, progress, etc. Even when you compared your template to bethel you didnt dog yourself nor did you fight that you were better. You were simply after what was better for the church, whatever was needed. We need more people like you.

Nice template, I have it! The templet is great and affordable but I want to realise guys this template do not fix your broadcast mix problem if you don't have great musicians, great instruments set up and tune on stage. Everything stars with great performance, great mic pre, good level from stage to the template, clean input signal. Make sure that you fix those problem before you spend the money to purchase it. If you don't fix them, this template will help you only to hear the bad clearly!

Hi Jake. When running your tracks from ableton via Dante into the console, how did you get it to input Dante. We run a full 20 piece band and Dante for broad cast but we tried to run tracks via Dante and the console (m32) doesn't allow me to switch a channel individually for the tracks.

the Snare and Kick replacements are great and they sound exactly like Bethel! Which could be a bit of an issue, for example if your live kit is so different then the online experience it will be extremely noticeable. I would either look to do that replacement with live triggers all the time or (and I would suggest doing this anyway). spend time in tuning your kit and using quality microphones to get the sound you need/want without replacements. Thanks Jake for always putting out helpful and quality content!

Hi, I use Protools in my home studio. I’m pretty sure when broadcasting with protools you are in record mode, while streaming. When record mode is on, plugins don’t work. How does that work with this template. I’m really thinking about buying a template, but I want to make sure it’s going to work. I am recommending this for my church, but I wanted to make sure this is going to work. Thanks!

So question? Are there instructions that explain how to deal with levels? I mean every signal that goes into a plugin is going to affect gain structure as well as affecting thresholds etc. How do you know how much gain reduction you are looking for in the compressors etc. I know it is not as simple as drag and drop (obviously), is this something a volunteer can learn to work with without having to know how all those plugins work?

On the drums, have I thought about auditioning Roland’s drum triggers on the kick and snare. They function as a real time replacement (or blend) for kick/snare (like the Slate Trigger software does - but live). So it creates a hybrid acoustic and midi triggered sample based kick/snare. I found in some live settings it’s a great way to supplement the kick/snare sound live (and therefore live bec the triggered sample goes into the board as mixable audio). Just a thought....

My church runs an X32 and has been doing simulated live since Covid hit. We are going full live once we start gathering in person again. I’ve been running two aux buses left and right into two matrices and sending those to OBS via our ATEM Mini, but I’m afraid FOH mixing plus mixing stereo to two buses is going to be too much for volunteers. How bad would it be to run dual mono live - sending one aux send to both matricies? A lot of people are watching live on a phone anyway. Thought?

Awesome video! Quick question, what is the point of using time adjuster on the inputs when pro tools already has plugin delay compensation built in?

Buil in delay compensation works for post production. But if you are streaming LIVE using drum replacement and other plugins. You need an additional plug in delay. Once you are not live and listening back you can take off the delay and let protools do its thing. I am one of the Co-founders of Production online. Hey! Their church doesn't live stream, they are using this for post production mixing. If you wanted to use this for live streaming, I would assume that the video guide would show you how but essentially, you would record enable/input monitor ALL the tracks you're using, then send the output of the STREAM buss to whatever output you want to use, whether that is an audio interface or a DANTE channel. Feel free to message me on Instagram @joeyvob if you need any further advice (keep in mind I haven't used this template but I am very fluent with Pro Tools and am DANTE level 3 certified.)

OH I just noticed you said BEFORE FOH console - generally if you're using DANTE you can easily configure your console to send all of your channels out of the DANTE card individually before the console processing takes effect, that way you're using only the dry inputs to the console and nothing that the FOH engineer does affects anything in the stream (except gain changes). This way, all your mics are only PHYSICALLY connected to the console but they can be virtually connected anywhere on the network.

Luke walks you through all of this in his tutorial with the template. but yeah, for sure you can use it for real live streaming. There's a stream output track in the template that will send the master mix to where ever your streaming audio needs to go. I would recommend having a computer dedicated to just this purpose for the best workflow and stability.

Hey! It definitely can be. I find that with live vocals on a dynamic microphone like is typical for worship, there's a lot of proximity build-up due to being so close to the mic. Cutting a fairly wide Q around 200-300 can be a really good move.

teddy tigan you have to make another audio track and assign it to what bus you want. Then send all of your inputs to that bus. That’s what I did at least to get our church by.

Hey brother, We are a church plant in NYC that is using multi-tracks on the playback app connected to a Berhinger X Air18 via usb (Since we don't have any musicians for now). We need a template that would be great for in house and broadcast that would help our vocals sound better. We do a live broadcast mix on a dedicated mixer in a studio type room. Really rely's on the audio tech to be on the spot live, but saves a lot of time. Service is over, mix is done.

Yes, you can use it for live broadcast. It would need tweaking to use it on live sound as there's some considerable latency introduced here that you would have to match with your video for broadcast and would be trainwreck in live sound.

hey Jake! Great video as always, brother. Hey question for you or anyone here. So if we we're going to feed this session from Dante (coming from a Behringer Wing at FOH, to our broadcast studio, a hundred feet away), then process it through this pro tools session, and then send a stereo track back to the Wing through Dante, which ultimately would get sent straight to our video switcher and feed our stream--how would we monitor pro tools in the studio? In my experience with pro tools (we're running pro tools 12, by the way) your playback engine can't be different than your I/O, which in this case would be Dante. trying to come up with a solution other than spending a few grand on another piece of hardware.

Could this be used for livestream mix? Do I need anything else to send out the mix through to our live audience?

Yes it can. The setup will look unique to your situation so it’s hard to say what you’ll need.

My name is Manuel and I'm from Panama... from a Church call Hosanna David.. always see your videos... excellent job.. bringing us all this work to help church to be better and more.. my question is.. this Templet works for Live music to? Or just when you record your session and the post edited.. because we do stream ours services and In the drummer and the media leader... but the mix in our church its pretty bad jaja.. you can se ours video in our channels.. I see this video and wonder if this works with live to.. sorry I don't understand well the word broadcast... nothing similar in Spanish... we recently buy the Yamaha TF5 .. help please
