Thank you for responding Pls what's the ratio of workers to pig? Like how many pigs can a worker successfully handle so that I won't understaff (overworked my staff) or overstaff my farm
Disclaimer❗️❗️❗️ These pigs are not mine. These pigs were underfed and malnourished and my duty here was to help prepare a well balanced meal for them to be able to gain weight. And so in this video my primary focus is on making feed with the right amount of ingredients and nutrients. Thank you.
Do I apply the video you made sometime back about the amount of feed per development stage with this formulation. For instance, will I still give my pig 125kg of finisher when using this formulation….and is this feed self sufficient, I don’t wanna feed my pigs market remains like overripen avocados
I'm not even a farmer. Probably the closest I'll get to a pig when it is on a plate! 😄 ... But, for sake of curiosity, I was looking for feed formula of different domestic animals. And after watching several videos, I think your presentation on pig feed is one of the best one's out there! Excellent video! Only for practical purposes, for those who aren't going to grasp mathematics, it would have helped if you would have broken down percentages into kgs. Eg. For 100 creep feed, how many kgs soya, maize, fish meal etc etc. To a farmer, that breakdown would help a lot more than a mathematical explanation. 🙏
Thank you Morris. At least you’re a consumer😂. I appreciate this comment. At 16:34 I breakdown everything into simple kilograms. If you watch to that part you’d see it. I started with the explanation so that people would appreciate how important each kilogram is to the development of pigs.
this is highly valuable content, I'm planing pig farm will have to watch this video few times as i take notes and estimate feed price for 10 sows with estimated 10 piglets each for 200 days. greatly appreciate this video
Thanks for your explanation. But I think the best way is to explain this in kg per ingredients. Is percentage equal to the kg per ingredients. Pls highlight on this as not all your listeners will understand % system. Regards
Thank you Sis for really dissecting this PSM in details. . My question on the additives is , Does the premix consists of the lysine and methionine. Or we need to add it separately.
Thanks for all your education I really appreciate your hard work. In the feed preparation you did not talk about additives such as Calcium Salts Premix Palm kernel cakes and others added to feed What is your take on these additives
Eh.....I was about to say the same thing ...they have been starving. Hopefully, they improved on the feed formulation you devised. I was about to leave the video after seeing the state of the pigs
Good afternoon Ms Ange and God bless you. You know, me watching your videos, especially some of them like this one, I really don't know what to say my dear, you are simply amazing african young lady, you are a precious, wonderful valuable asset, may God keep you alive and full of good health because African youth needs you. Talk to you later
Good morning, thank you for the reply. Hope you will continue helping us the same way you have been doing it si far, may God give you that strength and time . Be blessed too.
A great job here from you. Thanks so much. But what quantity of the prepared feed to one give to each of these categories of pig? Also talking about creep feed for piglets, how is this given to them since they are with their lactating mothers or is it the same that their eats,?
Hi Ange...This is great video. Please put a disclaimer at the beginning of the video that these are not your pigs that you have been called to solve the issue of the malnourished pigss other wise people will think the formula doesnt work.
Thank you very much. I realised this after receiving certain comments. But I can’t make changes to the video so as to add a disclaimer. I think I’ll have to pin a disclaimer comment.
Thank you so much for clearly explaining! I have one question: for the Pearson Square, after subtracting the cereals from the DCP requirement, you put the difference on the parts of protein. Is that correct to say the cereal difference becomes the parts of protein like at video time 9:39? Thank you again.
Ty for this helpful info Ange! Is Maize should be grinded as fine as maize bran ? And is there any advantage if we feed our pig’s pellets rather than mash? And what is the portion percentage if we add vegetables in this formulation example moringa or water spinach or any leaves that pigs eat?
Don’t grind the maize to be so fine. Both mash and pellets are good provided they have all required ingredients in the right proportions. I however prefer homemade feed over pellets because you have a better idea on the ingredients used. I usually give vegetables to my pigs as a treat.
@FarmgirlAnge1336 Thank you for such a detailed video. Please what processing needs to be done to the ingredients especially the soyabean or should the ingredients just be ground and used?
Good evening sister. Am watching from Nigeria. From the first time I bumped into your channel, I have been highly interested. Please, can I visit you in Ghana ?
Great job. Please I'd like to get the DCP for other feed... I've tried searching, but couldn't get. Likes of Rice Bran, wheat offal, Bone meal, limestone etc. Thanks
Thank you for the information.... Can I ask what is maize bran and fish meal ? ...um lost there can u assist me On fish meal do u mean the one used to feed fish
The DCP for various feeds are obtained through experimental analysis. So for us, we just find these values that have been pre-determined through people’s research work (from the internet)and use it in calculating our feed mixtures.
The calculation is based on preparing 50kg of feed Not necessarily the number of pigs. Because in my previous video I talked about how much feed a pig should be given in a day at the different stages of their life. So if you have 10pigs you know how much they’ll eat in a day so you give them that amount not the entire 50kg bag you’ve prepared.
@@farmgirlange Thanks for the quick response! Greatly appreciate the feedback - allow me to watch that as well with a guaranteed 👍 from me, very informative videos!
I didn’t add that because the pig premix is mixed differently by different producers. So it’s advisable to ask from the place of purchase how many kg you should add to a 50kg feed.
Thank you. The Crude protein (CP) for PKC is approximately 16.5%. So you can use that in formulating the feed since you know the CP needed at every stage. Limestone doesn’t have any proteins. However it is also important in the feed mix.
It’s not my farm. I was hired to help in solving the problem by calculating the quantities of each ingredient to be used in making their feed and how much they should eat a day.

@@calvinogweno1511 that’s why at the latter end of the video stated that pig premix should be added to the feed. Pig premix contains the minerals and vitamins needed.
