How To Mod a Line 6 M5 - Scene Select Switch 

excellent video, i've modded my M5 with new switches and full size 5mm LED indicators on the front, as well as a mounted expression knob.

Cool video, I wish I had seen this before doing the mod myself. Just a WARNING to everyone: this mod is huge pain in the butt! Opening the M5 by sliding off the bottom half without breaking any components might be the biggest challenge, which was omitted in this video. Removing hot glue, soldering, drilling a hole, reassembling... please think twice if it is worth the work for you! I badly needed the selector switch. It works, but in hindsight I would just hook up a MIDI switcher to the M5 to do the trick.

It's a nice idea (and luckily fairly simple to execute:)), but the M5 does not have scenes so it's a bit confusing that you call it a `scene select switch` instead of a `preset select switch` ;)😂

or just use a midi controller

This worked great. Thank you for making this video. upon disassembly 2 plastic discs came out of someplace. Where do they go when reassembling? replaced the footswitch pads as well also, anyone know the screw size for the foot pad screws on the back?

Silly question, when you go through the preset list, do you need to push both foot switch simultaneously to confirm and change? Or does the modification allow the list of effects to change automatically when you go up and down the list?
