How to Mod Brawlhalla

A basic guide by rredar on how to mod and create mods for Brawlhalla. This was the method used to create mods such as Rainbow Sigs. See links below, unfold for an important note.

Update of 4/19: Be wary of mod creation; BMG has expressed concern of mods because of conflicts with the patches.
A disclaimer: don't mod in paid or exclusive content. If the playerbase begins to abuse the ability given to them by BMG, then they might make tighter restrictions. (modding in paid content also goes against Steam ToS). Although I modded in a part of a skin for this video, I'd strongly advise against modding in taunts, skins, and profile pictures because it overlaps with what BMG sells.

Might have been a mistake on your part, leaving the background white instead of transparent. What program are you using to change the images?

Pretty much any modder will advise against this, since it's BMG's main source of revenue and against the Steam ToS. Even if you successfully made one (you'd have to draw every animation frame for the skin and fit it into the bounds of the free version), then other people wouldn't be able to see it.

Can you play as an unused legend in training mode using this method, like Stalker? And, to make custom avatars, what size does the photo need to be?

This only works with aesthetic mods. To make custom avatars, export and change an existing avatar so the file size and bounds remain the same. Although it's very possible, custom avatars are in the grey area of modding because it overlaps with the paid content that BMG sells, so I'd recommend against it.

xKitty Cosmetic mods, or any mods that don't interfere with the gameplay itself, aren't bannable.

Another method: 1. Right click on Brawlhalla in your steam library. 2. Click properties. 3. Click on local files. 4. Click on browse local files.

bruh. they can't. this goes for all mods on every game unless the mod is hosted on a certain server for which this does not apply to brawlhalla.
