How To Mod Trombone Champ (IN-GAME SONG DOWNLOADER)

In this video I show you how to mod Trombone Champ and use TootTally's in-game song downloader for custom songs! Hope it helps!
A track only showing a black screen is likely caused by outdated mods or missing dependencies. Following this guide will fix that and help you keep mods up to date in the future!
MAC USERS ONLY need to use this mod manager: github.com/Candygoblen123/Tro...
Download r2modman: github.com/ebkr/r2modmanPlus/...
Player.log directory: %AppData%\..\LocalLow\Holy Wow\TromboneChamp

If a song shows N/A in the song downloader, please report it in the TootTally Discord server (linked above) and the wonderful people over there will get it working again!
If you want to launch modded Trombone Champ through Steam or through your desktop shortcut:
-In r2modman, go to Settings and click "Set Launch Parameters", copy the text under "Start Modded"
-Then, in Steam, right click Trombone Champ, click Properties, and paste the text you copied into the "Launch Options" field
-it should work!
Please note that if you do this, you will not see when your mods are out of date until the next time you open r2modman. Also, you will be unable to launch the game vanilla or use different r2modman modding profiles until you clear the Launch Options field again.
Mods installed in this video:
TootTallySongDownloader: Adds the MoreSongs option into the game
TootTallySettings: Adds a new settings menu for mods to use
Trombloader: Loads custom songs into the game
BepInExPack: The original mod that loads in all the other mods
TootTally Core, BaboonAPI, Newtonsoft_Json, and FSharp_Core: Dependencies that allow other mods to run more efficiently as well as make it easier for mod creators. Most modern mods require these to work
- Note that you don't need to use TootTally if you just want custom songs. You can just install Trombloader (with its dependencies) but you will need to install all your songs manually (see this tutorial for that: • How to Manually Instal... )
If you are using a pirated version of Trombone Champ these steps may not work due to your game possibly being a different version, and I'm afraid we can't provide reliable support for you. Please support the devs and buy the game, it gets discounted during all the major Steam sales and it's not that expensive to begin with!

I installed the mod, but the songs didn't appear, do you know why this is?

I don't have much info to go by here but here's a few things it could be: -Make sure to press "start modded" in r2modman -Make sure you are using the correct modding profile in r2modman -Make sure the loading screen shows the "mods loaded successfully" message - if it does, your mods ARE working but your songs aren't. It it doesn't, your mods are not working at all -If you have Steam launch parameters set up, clear them/turn them off and see if it works -depending on exactly which song it is, a very, very small number of charts are broken and really should be updated in the database -I really don't have a lot of info to go by here so you're probably better off asking for support in the Trombone Champ discord server linked in the description if possible, and you may have to send them your log file (shown at the end of the video)

A bit of a weird question but when loading the modded version of Trombone Champ, sound of playing my trombone doesn't play, but when in vanilla, it works just fine... How do I fix that? (I use Headphones when playing the game just so you know)

@@asimplepyukumuku yeah I figured that out in the Trombone Champ Modded Discord server… but that begs the question… how does LowLatency clash with the sound effects of the trombone?

@@diamondxmen I honestly don't really know, it does some weird ASIO stuff I think. You'd probably get a better answer to that question in the modding server lol

Yup! When you download the song the background comes with it

how many mods can you download? is there a capacity? i'm asking since some of the songs that i downloaded won't appear.

There is probably a limit but it's super high, it's not something you'll ever have to worry about. Some people have every single availae custom song downloaded. A lot of people have been saying their songs aren't showing up, I hope I didn't miss something in the video

help because im using a pirated version of trombone champ... anything u could do to mod the game? how can i use r2modman when the game is not on steam.. i already added trombone champ to steam by using the button "add a non steam game"

@@zaidenmapa2992 Unfortunately the modding community doesn't support piracy, so we can't help you there. The game goes on sale during all the major Steam sales, and it isn't even that expensive in the first place

Uhh I think right now you'd have to delete them manually in the game files. To do that: -In r2modman, you'd have to go settings -> open profile folder -Open these folders: bepinEx-> customSongs -Delete the folders for the songs you no longer want I hope that helps, I may have missed a step or two tho, if I did, my tutorial on how to install custom songs manually will help you get to the customSongs folder where you can delete the songs I'll bring this up with the TootTally team tho, maybe deleting songs will be added in a future update

Do you know why there isn't a download button for the songs? It's just the web browser icon and nothing else. EDIT: Now its showing some with N/A and others with the download button EDIT 2: When I press download it says its downloaded but doesnt show up

Hmmm that's interesting... That sounds more like an issue with the mod itself, which I don't really know how to fix, so your best bet would probably be to head over to the Trombome Champ modding discord and send your log files there and someone should be able to help you. Or you can try installing the songs manually. Sorry about that

You could try pressing ctrl+r to refresh your song list after you download a song but I think it's supposed to do that automatically so I dunno that it'd make a difference

I have no idea, that's not enough info to troubleshoot with. You might have to send your log file in the Discord server in the description

You have to use a different mod loader instead of r2modman... I'm not entirely sure how to do it myself since I don't use mac, but the wiki has a link to the mac mod loader. I think it's probably a fairly similar process to using r2modman

r2modman still runs the game through Steam no matter what. I believe the game is only available through Steam and on Switch right now, so there's not much I can tell you unfortunately
