Yes, Gen 3 Arcade1Up cabinets can be modded! This video will talk specifically around the new monitors and how to troubleshoot if you run into any issues. This would include the Marvel Super Heroes, MK from Costco, and the TMNT (4 player mod coming soon).
The 2 fixes are to reset the lcd converter or to plug into a computer at correct resolution. Most monitors should work out of the box, but if you start messing with resolution settings, etc they can go white or black. Your monitor is fine in nearly all cases, it is simply the lcd converter.

THANK YOU SO MUCH! Ran into the blue screen on a marvel cab after fiddling with resolution. Couldn't get the windows trick to work, but I swapped the board into my MK cab and was able to reset it there. If you're trying to get the resolution right to fix the bottom cut off, they have another video with the correct overscan settings!

Right board wrong fix to the resolution. It’s the right LCD controller board and I’ve already got the marvel completed weeks ago with theme ratio fixed. You have a major cutoff and said to let it sit for 20-30 mins ROFL. You need to change the resolution in the backend.

These TWS BOE screens don't run at the the same resolution as the older screens. They were 1280x1024 which is am awkward 5:4 ratio, but the BOE runs at a clean 1280x960 4:3 ratio. If you're seeing the top and bottom slightly cutoff, it sounds to me like your problem is that your source is running at the wrong resolution. Have you guys tried just setting the Pi to 1280x960? It should be set that way anyway, otherwise you'll either have a scaled image or, as seems to be the case here, a cutoff image.

I didn't mess with that menu bc it's all in Chinese so I hooked it to my laptop and my laptop screen on the 19in monitor looks fine and I tried to reset it that way by changing my computer resolution then plugging it back in but the resolution for the games is still washed out I opened a ticket for help

Are these screens more brighter? I was thinking of buying your 19" but I am unsure if it would make my picture more vivid since I am using a gonbes 8200 from my jamma setup

Where is the option to rotate the screen? I put mine together and everything on screen is rotated 45deg clockwise...I was told there is a "rotate" option in the computer thing where u changed the language to English but I can't find it... Anyone had this issue???

Mine works great with the Pi on, but when I shut down the monitor says monitor burn in mode and goes through various cycles. Anyway to fix this?

You can get a smart power strip. When you turn on computer everything else gets power and turns off. When computer goes off everything will turn off including the monitor. Or just just power to machine power strip after pi shutdown.

Got mine all set up plugged up exactly as it should be but the pi 4 doesnt give a signal to any monitor at all and the control board does not even turn on led buttons dont go on I'm really confused did I get defective items?

I recently got the 19in upgrade and swapped out my simpsons a1up monitor. I hooked the new monitor into the 4player modup kit and the retro pie loading screen looks great but the artflix colors looks light orange instead of red and all the games look washed out. I tied new hdmi cables everything is plugged in from arcademodup stock. Any help?

Hey man, just bought this kit for my marvel cabinet and I'm getting a black screen. Tried to connect it with my laptop and using the alternate resolution, but I'm still getting a lit up black screen. Tried to change with the built in menu, but can't see it on the screen. Any suggestions?

Thanks for the video. The screen being cutoff does affect gameplay (e.g. Donkey Kong). When I have more time, I'm going to try looking into the raspberry config for overscan settings. I read elsewhere that enabling overscan, uncommenting the overscan lines and changing the bottom overscan setting to 64 (from 16?) is the secret. Thoughts?

How do you add the Stock Light Up Marquee after you change the LCD board?? The Gen 3 has a outlet for the marquee but whats the external power after you replace it? I've finished two gen 3 mods but this is the first time i got a Arcade 1up Stock Lit Marquee for MK.

I have not noticed it. If you see supermario brothers in video it looks correct. I think it is the emulationstation interface and the screen res not playing completely nice.

@@arcademodup2286 so the board that is supposed to work with the new cabinets WILL work, it's just the menu screen that's cut off ? The games themselves aren't ? I'm really nervous about this because I want to get the Marvel Cabinet as it has good games that I like, unlike the Street Fighter cabinet, and I can only get one cabinet. I'd hate to get a cab that I can't add games to.

@@Spottedfeather You can see how it works. I would not get the "marvel" because of the games as you plan to mod anyhow. I am sure this small resolution issue on the menus will be resolved some time soon as this is tip of the iceberg stuff. Personally I would get the cheapest horizontal arcade1up and mod it. You can always swap graphics to whatever you want later. The asteroids for example I think is like $160 on walmart where marvel is $399 or whatever. The difference is nearly the full mod kit anyhow. But if you want the graphics pack, then fine to go with it.

@@arcademodup2286 I can only get ONE machine, though. And it will be months and months until I was able to scrape up enough money to start modding it. So, I'd like to have games that I can play in the mean time.
