Thanks for the explanation, I had issues figuring out how to make spiral flutes like that. Anyway, I have some experience with cutting tools and while it certainly looks like a drill, it wouldn't be functional. It's missing all the clearance angles for the cutting edges, making it a cone will make it not cut at all. Also don't chamfer the cutting edge.

I appreciate your valued input. I also make sure I have added in my about page that I'm here to provide exercises on how to use the software. Unique circumstances may differ based on real-world requirements and tolerances. Therefore my particular examples are meant to be a solution to help figure out a larger problem. Thanks again.

Hi CJ. Could you please help me. All good up to 2 mins 35 secs. I cannot figure out how you manage to rotate the axis with the line tool locked onto the end point. I have tried and tried, as soon as I try to move the axis, the line tool disengages, also, trying to get the Red axis vertical seems impossible for me.

On the sketch palette be sure that 3D sketch has been selected. You also left click and drag the line along the red axis from the center point which in my case is the X axis.

@@CADJungle Firstly, the 3D Sketch was ticked. I have tried to get the line to form a circle around the red axis. You manage to get the three axis to rotate until the blue axis is lined up. However if I hold down the shift button nothing happens, as long as I keep the left mouse button depressed and the axis remain where they are. I did get the blue dotted line when the Z axis was at 180 degrees to your position but when I tried the tangent constrain, it wouldn't allow me to select both lines. I'm sure there is an easy way to resolve this but I cannot figure it out.

I misspoke before, the Z axis should be the blue line not red lol. Also, sometimes I have to hit the escape key to make sure nothing else is selected and then try to use the constraints once again from scratch. If not, exit the sketch then, go back and attempt to edit the sketch with 3D sketch turned off and try the tangent constraint. Let me know what happens! You now have my mind flowing :)

@@CADJungle With '3D Sketch' unchecked, the line tool, when directed to the spiral, shows an 'x' not the square. Also when unchecked, the tangent constrain doesn't see the spiral. I've drawn along the blue dotted line several times but the tangent constraint doesn't accept it. The plot thickens !

That is definitely weird. I attempted to duplicate the issue you are having and wasn't able to come up with the same problem. I was in fact able to draw the line and utilize the tangent constraint repeatedly. OK, send me a snapshot of your steps at this point to: support@monetaryingenuity.com and I'll take a look. Also if you are able to send me the exported file, I may be able to look at that as well.
