Great job, hey, welding on your car? Do you ever 1orry about hurting the electronics, like ecu's or anything like that? Do you disconnect them? Just curious
Rusted Horsepower - yes! I worry about that all the time. So whenever I weld on a car, I always disconnect the battery. I was told to do this when I first started welding ~22 years ago. So far - no issues yet! :)
Sadly replacing the muffler is the best bet. Depending on the car - there are lots of cheap mufflers out there, like the “Thrush Hush”. I’ve used them a bunch and they sound great for a really low price!
@@WiringRescue thank you! I'm considering using a muffler strap/clamp that has the rod attached to it so you can insert the rod into the rubber piece and have it hang like that. Not tryna replace the whole thing
I’ve done this probably a hundred times to exhaust hangers over 20+ years and I haven’t had one break. Typically when you heat metal and then cool it fast it does become harder, but also more likely to crack. I honestly don’t think it matters with exhaust hangers though. With other parts it probably matters more.
Leo Ginto - good to know! The style torch that I use is not very expensive, and can be bought at most hardware stores. Id bet like $35 if I had to guess.
