This is an extended version, that will both show step-by-step how to modify the curtain, but also how to install it and setup the smart home integration to all three major ecosystems: Apple, Google and Amazon
Thanks for your videos, I have followed your instructions with successful results. Went even a little longer and made the curtain 8mm wider so it covers better, also cut off the piece of fabric that was left on the tube after I shortened it. A tip for those who have a miter saw is to buy a saw blade that takes aluminum, became incredibly accurate and nice and was extremely easy to make.👍 It will also be MUCH easier to get the right length because it will be so easy to adjust afterwards until you are satisfied. Bought my blade at Clas Ohlson for around SEK 250.
Hi Mate, thanks for the video, really awesome what you have done. could you tell me what is the total length including the housing when full rolled down, as my window height is 208cms and IKEA's fabric length is 195cms. just wondering if it will open all the way to the bottom after installation.
Thanks for the detailed instructions. The distance between the outer mount and fabric is fairly high, I was wondering why one wouldn't be able to cut down the motor rail/bar as you have, but then cutting down the roller and blind slightly less to reduce the distance between the outer mount and the edge of the fabric? Then of course the aluminum weighted piece at the bottom would be cut flush with the fabric rather than extending on either side. Thanks!
@@TooManyGadgets My niche is 119cm, so I would only have to shorten 1cm of the outer casing and leave the tube and material as is. I think it's crazy they didn't make it just slightly adjustable.
What a great, detailed & professional video. I’m still not sure if I can buy it, because unlike your window which opens outside, my window opens to the inside.
Thanks for the video 🙂. My window is only 25 centimeters tall. Would there be an issue, if I cut the curtain (make it shorter) with respect to how it operates? I feel, a shorter curtain would make the electric motor to work less.
Hello @Too Many Gadgets! just want to check if the battery compartment have to be completely extended for the battery to be removed? As i would have a blockage at my intended area of installation.
Hello, Why did you cut six centimeters from the end of the aluminume tube instead of 6 centimeters minus the thickness of the end unit (~ 6 MM), about 5.75 centimeters instead (I guess, close enough), since everything was refernced to the edge of the unit?
If I have 3 windows in the room, can I control/pair all 3 blinds with the phone or with only 1 remote and just press once and all 3 blinds working simultaneously...?
Do you think - as THE expert on the matter - that it’s possible to add lengh to the blinds? I would need 220cm. Could you theoretically just put the fabric part from another blind on the fyrtur frame? Thanks for your time :-)
So thanks for the title :) Yes I think it can be done - but like I've mentioned to others asking the same, it's key that you choose a thin fabric as else they combined with of the fabric folded together will not fit when its rolled up
No - their are fairly long, so you would need to have a really big window if you need additional length. You can see in the video that I showed how the fabric is glued onto the roll - so you should be able to change the fabric with something else, and perhaps a bit longer. But there would definitely be a limit as the thickness of the fabric can not overstep the limits of what the motor can handle, and what can psychically fit onto the roll.
@@TooManyGadgets well i just installed the Fyrtur and i need 15 more cm... but according to other forum or post : the blinds goes up until the bottom bar stop it BUT to goes down the motor do a fixed number of revolution. I don't have a solution yet but if you have an idea i take it ;)
@@murlock7 so this is my same dilemma. My window is 240 in height however (in the UK), the longest curtain is only 195. Can I just use my own curtain and it still work well?
@@dmmotsutsuki8968 for what i have found on the differents posts: with a longer fabric we shouldn't have a problem to go up it goes until block by the aluminium stick, but to go down the motor do a always 13.5 revolution. The only solution i can see is to have a biger "external diameter" for the tube: this way a revolution of the motor could let go more fabric. But I have not tested this solution
6, Setzen. Habe diese Rollos seit 2 Wochen
