Thank you so much!! This was very helpful! I have a different Samsung TV (TU7100 55") and a standing mount. The numbers in the Samsung TV pamphlet only show M8 screws (which was correct) but didn't mention the length. It did say 20-22cm for the screw hole, and that's what I assumed I needed, an M8 22 cm. But Turns out I needed to use 45 cm with 2 of the 'extenders' thankfully supplied with the TV mount. Can't imagine how many people might have damaged their TVs with the incomplete details that Samsung has for mounting.

Nice job. Just picked up this TV. Samsung made this more difficult than it had to be, and couldn't be bothered to include four machine screws. For all the black friday buyers wondering, the mounting screw/bolt specs are at the bottom of page 7 in the instruction manual. M8x1.25, 43-45mm length. And no, 5/16x18 (imperial equivalent) won't work, I already tried.

Just for the record, I used the 45mm length bolts and they worked PERFECTLY! Be sure that they are flat at the end and not tapered at all (on the point side). This video was extremely helpful. Thank you.

Thank you, I bought the same tv and needed help mounting on an existing wall mount. I needed the m8 x 43mm bolts because the ones that were on the old tv were shorter. Found them on amazon. This video was very helpful!

@@lisamarie7373 aside from this video, I read the instructions that came with my new TV. There it said that I needed I certain size(longer than the existing ones used to mount my old tv) ordered them on amazon. The instructions should list the proper size to use. Hope this helps 🙂

Sorry for the late reply, I believe it was a 1/4in bit - the larger bolts were significant. For smaller screws a 1/8 is fine.

I lost the screws to my original mount so it forced me to find the screw specs (also noticed how big the holes in the TV were. So I made a trip to Ace Hardware. Second issue neither the wall mount’s flat panel or extension adapters accommodated the 8 inch spacing of the holes on the back of the TV. I have the same size and model used in your video. I will be ordering the mount you used and a drill to remove and replace the original mount. 😓. Thank you. Loved the video. 😁

Big Dawg here Hey I like your help video it really helped me on installing the brackets to the tv. But you may wanna and this in as an update or revised. You mounted that tv almost in the corner. Maybe you could have used a corner mount. It’s a little more involved to install but I would like to see your approach. Just did one myself

Yeah for sure! It worked ok with the long extension on the articulating arm, but if there is a corner mount probably would’ve been better. Just dropped another video about using a 7 Series Samsung as my Monitor, used a flush mount that time. Thanks for checking out the video!

In the Samsung manual table underneath the diagram showing the spacers, it specifies the type of bolt. In this case it is an M8 43-45mm bolt which is needed.

I recently ordered replacement parts for the black tubes that go in back of the TV because i misplaced the original ones but when I received them the black tubes did not fit the top holes where its supposed to stick out a little. I have a Samsung 7 series RU7100 got any advice?

Helpful hint: you may need two washers if your brackets are not as thick. You will know if the bolt doesn't tighten good enough. Tx

You talked me into getting this everstone bracket. My LG set suddenly died so I'm getting a Samsung 55" TV from Best Buy to replace it. The old one sat on an entertainment cabinet but my wife wants to get rid of that so I looked for an instructional video about hanging a bracket and saw yours. I ordered the same bracket you show here. By the way, the weight limit is now 121lbs. And you're right, a bracket from Best Buy is $149.00, the one I just ordered from Amazon is $35.00 with free shipping. Looking forward to getting everything here. The only thing I wish you had showed was how you put the TV onto the wall part, does it take two people? I really like your delivery, you take your time and don't prattle on about unrelated things like some other RU-vid guys do. Oh, I like your tee shirt "A well regulated militia". Amen brother!

Glad you liked the video!! Nice to know about the weight increase. The tv we had I was able to hang by myself, not too heavy. Two people is always helpful though if possible. On the backside once prepped, you just set the hooks that are on the rails onto the “ledge” on the mount. I couldn’t figure out how to record mounting it from the backside but once you’ve got things assembled it’s super simple. One those hooks are on, you can let go and then you tighten two screws on the bottom to lock it in place. Good luck with the install!

What a nightmare trying to figure out how and why these plastic plugs are used - great video- wish I found it 2 hours ago LOL. BTW I think these spacer plugs serve 2 puposes 1) as u explain, to create a flat surface to attach flat mounting bracket to back of TV & 2) To prevent bolt (M 8 size if memory serves me) from penetrating the circuit board inside TV chassis or even worse penetrating the front SCREEN!!. Another word of caution- DO NOT USE ELECTRIC SCREWDRIVER to tighten these 4 bolts - as u may accidentally force screw through the plastic plug & damage the TV.. Hand tighten very gently- ONLY... Just needs to be firm not tight - The weight and angle of TV will apply enough outward pull to prevent those bolts from loosening on their own. This is my daughter's TV and the correct plugs may have been lost after her moving 3x since purchase- is there a fast way to get replacements? Dealing with Samsung Customer Service is a complete NIGHTMARE- they are the worst...

Yeah I’m not sure if I mentioned about not using an electric drill, you are absolutely right and I probably did it in the video 😂 but yes there’s a huge risk with the higher movement and torque - it can blow a screw right through or strip out the threading easily. They really are the worst. I purchased replacement parts for the black plug/tubes from Samsungparts.com and 2 of them don't fit the top holes after contacting them several times they keep telling me they're compatible with my TV but when I try putting them in they just fall off instead of fitting in and sticking out just a little bit. And as of this moment I still haven't got this issue resolved.

I am now trying to mount my 40in Samsung. This was a huge help. Last time I tried to mount a light fixture I had the worst time using a stud finder so I ended up getting drywall anchors. I am going to try a stud finder again but if it doesn't work out, do you think drywall anchors will work again?? I'm only worried because this is significantly heavier than a fixture of course.

Definitely try to find the studs and if absolutely not able to do that then use anchors BUT get good ones!! This is my favorite type - Stud Solver #7 x 1-1/4 in. Phillips Zinc-Plated Alloy Flat-Head Anchors with Screws (20-Pack) www.homedepot.com/p/100185538

Good luck with the install!! Sometimes it’s best to put some longer boards on the wall first to span the studs, and then mount the mount onto those. Hard to explain here in text format, but basically building out the wall a bit before you hang the mount if concerned about stud spacing. Yeah that’s the idea - it can be helpful even if you have studs close enough, just so you have plenty of wood to attach additional screws.

Hey. Thanks for the video. Why not cut the other end of the plastic tube in the TV to make it shorter so you can then retain the washer part of the plastic tube? Was there a specific reason you had to cut the end with the washer on it?

If my memory serves correct, I believe it was due to the curve of the back of the TV making one set of threaded holes further inset than another - so bolt length became an issue. Not 100% - been awhile on this one!! Thanks for reaching out

Was wondering bout the wall mount does this model make the TV on a slant or I can have it straight and flushed against the wall?

It can slant or you can lock the bolts in place so it stays straight up and down. It’s not going to sit as flush as a non-articulating mount, meaning one that doesn’t have the arm to swing it out. Thanks for watching and for reaching out!! 🙌🏻

Help me Rhonda.!! I bought a wall mount bracket and it did not come with the plastic plugs.. So I am returning it. I LOVE you video made perfect sense.. spent 4 hrs on the bloody thing yesterday to no avail. Then I watched your video. My bad should have watch it 1st.. NOW the hunt begin for the same thing you have ARL507D-ES . At this point not having any luck with Amazon or Walmart.. I have a Samsung TV. I went to the Samsung site for a wall bracket they want $130 and do not have a problem paying the $$ but it does not show me there are plastic plugs. My Samsung Smart TV is about 4 yrs old. Any ideas of were I can do to get a wall mount with the plastic plugs..

Hi!! I just bought the Samsung TU7000 (50in) and my manual says that the screw length has to be 20-22mm but I’ve bought 3 different brands of mounts and they all only come with 25mm screws. Do you know what the solution might be? Thanks!

Check with your local hardware store, you should be able to purchase the correct length bolts needed. Those mounts normally approach things as a 'catch-all' trying to cover as many models as possible - but sometimes they do not have what is needed. Good luck and thanks for reaching out!

I have the same setup as yours, with the exception of the red spacers you used for the top screws. Therefore, my screws don't sit flushed with the mount. Do you think the setup is sufficient without the spacers? I mean the bolts are able to go into the TV more this way.

I think it would probably be ok, but I can’t physically see or inspect your exact setup of course. In my opinion, if you’ve got a well seated screw / fastener AND it’s in far enough, you are good to go. Good luck and thanks for watching the video!! 💪🏻

Hex Head bolt Metric M8-1.25 45mm long is barely enough for one washer. The plastic spacers will tilt the TV forward a little.

I have the exact same tv, I noticed that the bottom screws have to be longer than the top. Did you have the same issue? I started with one size that came with the mount and it was too short so I bought the next size up and it fit the top and I didn't bother to check the bottom and now I have to make another run to Lowe's to get longer bolts for the bottom. I am so irritated lol. I did find my plastic spacers that came with the tv but I have not yet tried them. I guess samsung makes it difficult or tries to get you to buy their mounts. In the manual it shows the same bolts for top and bottom. M8 1.25 x 4 @43-45mm but for the top I needed M8-1.25x35. Ugh, I will post back after I go to the store again lol. Thank you for the video. FYI the manual says the tv is 81lbs?

I don’t think it’s 81 lbs, doesn’t seem that heavy because I mounted it alone. I do believe the bottom bolts could be longer, but been a while since I installed it so I don’t remember. Definitely circle back with more notes! 🙏🏻

It's pretty easy lol, u just lift the tv up and sit the hooks on the top rail of the mount then tighten the screws at the bottom

It is from Rhinoband although, fair warning their customer service is not the best. Overall I like the watch band, but the screen protectors they provide break instantly and they provide no support. I opted to use a self-healing liquid applied type of screen protector from amazon paired with their band and my Apple Watch seems indestructible now.

The two hooks on the arms that attach to the tv latch onto the mount. They are hooks that grab the rail of the mount. If you have the mount, and the rails installed it’s extremely easy. Best of luck

Yes it’s possible, and it should come with some Sheetrock anchors. If not, you can purchase anchors at Home Depot or Lowe’s, or any local hardware store usually. Make sure to get anchors that are rated for the weight - and you’ll be all set! Thanks for reaching out

The mounts should come with the mounting screws you need either direct to stud or in sheetrock. I assume they are engineered to match the mount. If you have studs, a few large #8 screws with washers could work, but hard to say without knowing exactly your situation.

I figured out the back of the tv. The top two holes need 2 spacers each with the metal bar and one spacer on the bar with the Biggest screw. The bottom two holes need two spacers each under the metal bar and the screw (with no spacer in between this time). Hopefully that makes sense.

Not sure I can say anything other than the mount & tv are still holding strong with how I did it - May not have been the exact correct method, but if not I’d recommend that Samsung provide a simple mount and good actual instructions with all the parts needed with their TVs. Simplest way to explain is that it just hooks on, and I couldn’t get the camera around there because it’s a bit awkward and I had to be on a step stool. There are hooks on the mounting arms that set onto the wall mount - like a tongue & groove type situation. It’s really the easiest part overall. There are 2 screws to tighten down after it’s set and you’re all done. Thanks for reaching out

For plaster, you’d want to use an appropriate type of fastener, something like a tapcon may work. You should have the old wood strips behind it too, but I’d be really sure you have the support.

I did not use the bolts that came with it because with this TV in particular they did not work with how I had to attach the mount to the back.

I'm not sure the TV should / does come with any adaptors - those come in the box with the mount. Different mounts will have different options. That’s weird for sure! I know sometimes they just pull off - not sure if there was an instructions booklet included but I think that would normally say how to remove if possible. I guess you could cut them off with a jigsaw or reciprocating saw potentially, but my gut tells me they are removable but probably in a not-so-obvious way. Hopefully you can find a solution!!

Our shiplap is an inch thick, solid wood underneath 1/2” plywood paneling. We’ve had TVs hanging on the walls here for about 3 years no issues so far. Thanks for watching!! 🙌🏻
