I do the same thing but take a piece of aluminum foil and fold it to make a little tray, then tape it to the wall under where I'm drilling. It's awesome.

realized my house has steel studs so I bought this kit. I couldnt seem to drill through the steel studs.. so I wonderd if I can just install those same bolts in just the drywall.. apparently my tv is 35 pounds (55 inch vizio) which seems to be within the acceptable weight range. Would the wall hold it? everyone I talk to seems so uneasy about drywall mounting

Thanks for the video. this is great mounting system. I was so excited to the project myself. !!!!!!!!!!!!! Found this great kit for sale on Amazon. It has the toggle anchors, drill bit, 1/4-20 screws and washer the entire set for around $20. Good for drywall plasterboard gypsum and mounting on Steel Studs. @verenicevazquez758 yes I used them on heavy TV 's and mirrors. Yes I used them with full motion mounts. Make sure when you insert those toggles in their wall holes that they are seated flush before you push in the plastic locks to lock them in place.

It’s very easy now to hang a tv on a wall there’s no weight in the new type flat panel TVs. Try hanging a pioneer kuro back in the day. Jesus them plasma screens broke my heart while trying to install them in places you couldn’t imagine

Same method, as long you use a tilt or fixed tv mount with 4-6 of these anchors spread across, hanging a upto 70" TV and 70lbs is not a problem. It is just sheer and not tensile on the wall. We would not advice mounting a TV with a full motion/swivel/articulation that heavy with purely elephant anchors.

how heavy is your tv? and how far does you mount extend out? if your TV is below 70lbs and does not extend out more then 15" . it should good. use more anchors at the top of the mount. 3-4 at the top and 2 at the bottom of the mountingplate.

does not matter where the holes are drilled. Do space them out so the weight is evenly distributed.

2" is the best. works on 95% of walls. Usually in condos your wall only has about 2" depth. anything longer will pierce through the drywall on the other side. If you have two layers of drywall then you can use a 2.5" or 3".

If I have a bathroom on the otherside of the drywall and my tv weighs 30lbs, would it be safe to mount? Should I hire someone to inspect instead?

Check whether there are pipes running from the bathroom side. I would be worried on the wall where the shower is and where the toilet bowl is. You want to be careful while drilling if there are pipes. You don’t want your drill bit to drill into your pipes. Other then that you should be fine. If you are worried you can’t cut a nice chunk of drywall behind the tv using a hole saw [we use 2”-3”] and see what’s inside before drilling the tv anchors and patch back the hole.

We do not suggest it. There may be some full motion mounts with larger wall plates, more points of anchoring into the wall that might make it safe, but as a general rule we do not recommend it.

Did you find a solution? I am trying to mount a 77" TV that is 60lbs with Sanus full-motion mount. Previous owners of our house framed the TV room with aluminum framing. I am thinking of using 10 TOGGLER SNAPTOGGLE. Apparently, they are good up to 238lbs....

I watched you video and it great Thank you for sharing but I have a question in your title it says your hanging a 90lbs tv but that tv does not look like a 90lbs tv am I wrong ? Just wondering because I have an 75”-80” tv that I want to hang over fireplace with no studs and the only mount that will work there is a full motion one because I have some brick molding on the sides that won’t allow tv to flush with a mount please give me some advice Thank you 😊

There should be some kind of stud in there that you are not noticing. May be there is plywood already in place. If you are installing a 75-80”with a full motion mount, you must secure to at least one stud. You can supplement with elephant anchors.do not install such a big tv with a full motion mount on drywall with hitting a stud.

@@verenicevazquez758 cut out a hole a little further from where the mount goes, that you can patch later. from this hole which is around the size of your phone will enable you to see whats going on inside behind the fireplace.

this is stud finder is the best. amzn.to/3xBxg6R it is a simple non electronic stud finder which is always accurate. it will detect any screws that were used to attached the drywall to it. Another possibility is also you are dealing with a brick or concrete wall which is solid. concrete or brick walls don have any studs.

yes. but read this entire thing before you make a decision. it will work fine to hold it up strong. just be aware that if you are intensely vibrating the entire speed bag mount attachment on a daily basis you might effect the integrity of your drywall. If your drywall start crumbling, the pull strength will be diminished. The anchors works by clamping your object against the drywall. Each time you punch hard, the entire speed mount that is clamped to the drywall is going to vibrate and take of bits of the drywall. After some time the half inch hole that was drilled will become larger and the scratches created by the anchors friction will have a consequence. I would cut a piece of 3/4" plywood which is about 2ft x 2ft, anchor it to the wall with 6 of elephant anchors/toggle bolts then mount your speed bags to the plywood. this was the vibration is contained by the plywood which is not as crumbly as drywall and will keep your drywall integrated. Hope that works in your situation. This is purely my viewpoint and not professional advice.

Not for full motion mount. If you are not catching the stud, avoid the full motion mount. Use a tilt or fixed mount and it will be safe.

Yes. if you are using a fixed mount. if you are using a swivel mounts we do not advice only using drywall anchors alone. There might be plywood backing or framing. So drilling a 2 to 3 inch hole and finding out what is behind is a good idea.

Do pay attention if there is a kitchen or bathroom faucet at the back of the wall. you would want to avoid mounting a TV on that wall. Also check if there is electrical junction box at the back of where you want to drill. If there is, then do no drill in that area. These are rare but please check and avoid it. As you drill pay attention and if you have to much resistance then examine the situation. Drilling drywall should be very easy and there should not be any resistance. If you feel resistance then examine what it is and whether you can move your target hole to the left or right. a. if you encounter wood or plywood then use lag bolts instead of toggle bolts. b. if its a metal stud then you can avoid it by moving the hole a little left or right. The metal stud surface should be around 1.5 inch. Any other doubts, please asks your questions here and we will answer it for you. Thanks for enjoying our channel.

@@dudeman3793 It will work. Up to 20lbs on a swivel mount should be fine. The toggle bolts are strong just on drywall. The break strength of the anchor on drywall is 90lbs-200lbs

Additional anchors is to distribute the load. The top holes are the ones which is bearing most of the load. About adding additional load of upto 400lbs, Your drywall is fasten to the studs with drywall screws, so the entire chunk of drywall might pop off from the studs even if all the additional toggle bolts are holding the load onto the drywall.

Can i do this on plasterboard i want to mount a 65 inch (one side would be going into the stud just for where i want it their isnt another stud for the other side? @@emilyscott1372 At 50lbs and going into 1 stud is possible if your tv is not going to be pulled out of the wall all the time. If the TV is going to be pulled away from the wall all the time i would not recommend it. The TV will not fall but over time its tensile strength will cause your metal stud to warp.
