Spring in the garden is the great time to move plants. Roots are less prone to rot, they are more willing to go into new soil areas and plants enjoy great vigor of growth. Today I am moving Nepeta Six Hills Giant. It is being moved from the back of my garden to the front, near the road.

Very interesting and useful video. I’m preparing to move 3 ankle-height plants and needed this for confidence! I particularly enjoy the trick of moving them in buckets.

😮 oh my goodness... My grandson touched the screen while we watched , and apparently hit the thumbs down 😅 thank goodness I seen that at the end and quickly thumbs up'ed it !!! I absolutely loved this and was so glad to hear you teach on protecting roots, way too often over looked on many other peoples , gardening videos !!! Happy spring and yes, such good work , that "good tired " at the end of the day 🌿🌱🌹🌷

😁 I have the same feeling, nobody talks about exposed roots. Enjoy your time with that precious baby!

Thank you so much for sharing, Olga! You are always so joyful and inspiring. Here in Missouri almost every time I dig a hole I come across rocks. When my husband and I moved here about a year and a half ago we were told by our realtor that Missouri grows rock, she was absolutely right 😆🤣

We do have lots of rocks too, but maybe not so many as in Missouri. :)

I always enjoy your videos, Olga. Thank you for sharing. I am about to grow some Nepata from seeds, so I will keep it in mind that the plants will spread.

Another good video. I learned my lesson the hard way two years ago when I was moving a precious rose. I did not lose it but it sure looked sad for a long time.

Oh, we all have our stories, right? Some of my mistakes at the beginning were so plain wrong. Well, we learn. Happy gardening!

Olga, may I ask the size of that black bucket you carry things with? It looks like a flexible one. Love the video ❤❤❤

It is a 10-gal bucket. I bought it at our discount store Job Lot. It is such a good one. Next time I am there, I will want to buy 2 or 3 more. I will let you know how successful I am and what company it is. Happy gardening!

I just moved to my new house they had a rose bush that died so I pulled it out well this year I noticed a baby rose coming out where I pulled it lol
@OlgaCarmody
@OlgaCarmody Год назад
Great news for you! If it is own root, you will have the same rose. If it was grafted rose, then you might have a vigorous surprise, since root stock is different and it might have produced a new shoot.
@leahwilson7710
@leahwilson7710 Год назад
@Olga Carmody I think it was grafted I will have to move it due to almost planting a butterfly bush ontop last year. How long does it take a baby rose to get old enough to flower?
