Actually, purely heradically speaking, the upper left part is on the right (it's inversed bcoz heralds in the middle ages described the crests from the point of view of the shield holder), so in this case, the right answer should be Moravia :)
To the "demonstration" topic - you don't need permission in meaning "Yes, you can go there", but you have to inform the local state Office about your intention to call demonstration at least 5 days ahead. Reason for that is that there might be another event at the square that you might interrupt. If there aren't any events, than you are free to go and demonstrate, but if there will be another event (f.e. farmer markets), the state Office will ban demonstrating at the square and suggest you different location.
They misunderstood the question slightly. The question didn't ask how to get the permission to demonstrate, but rather which law grants us the freedom to demonstrate. I also think the main reason for the obligation to report the demonstration in advance is to allow city enough time to ensure there are no traffic jams and to allow police to make sure enough policemen are available.

Fun, or not so fun, fact: There was relatively serious nuclear accident in Czechoslovakia in 1977 (of course nothing on the scale of Chernobyl or Fukushima, but still serious - power plant had to be closed down). But our nuclear power plants are both on lowlands like 200km from Tatra mountains.
Fun fact - technically, the 9th question demands an answer breaching the rules of the heraldric blazon, because coats of arms are described from the point of view of the holder of the shield. That was honestly pretty easy, I mean, since I am a Czech I have different point of view of what is hard and what is easy lol, but I was expecting at least questions like 'how many members there are in the Senat' or 'Where resides the constitutional court' or something like that, those are the tricky questions that are hard to remember sometimes. It's quite easy to get citizenship here especially if you've lived here for years.
Maybe living there for years is the key. We bear Czech passports, but our daughter by technicality was classified to be Slovak. For Czech citizenship she would have to do the years in CZ and prove proficiency in Czech language. I am sure that she can communicate in Czech better than Jen, but she cannot read and write Czech, so the excercise in futility is over.

"It's like they took the polish flag and put a blue triangle on it" - that's pretty much what happened - it used to be (before 1918 I think) exactly the same as polish flag (it was the flag of czech kingdom). Then they added the blue triangle to differ from polish flag - and because it is supposed to represent Slovakia (originally). The triangle is even called "slovenský klín".
It must be a little late than 1918 as i am pretty sure that 7 days Czech/Polish war from 1919 have two sides with same flag. ;) Must have been pretty confusing for soldiers. XD
Myslím si že nikdo ničí vlajku nevzal. Totiž oba státy využívaly barvy svých vojenských znaků - pro českou korunu to byl známý lev v červeném poli a pro polskou orlice taktéž v červeném poli. Vzhledem k tomu že my jsme byli pod habsburky a poláci pod pruskem, tak asi nikdo neměl potřebu tohle řešit no a po vzniku republiky se jednoduše rozhodlo že budeme mít i slovanskou modrou k odlišení
Slovenský klín is a myth :D red, blue and white are colors of democracy - you can find them on flags of France or United states. And these colors are also slavic colors - you can find them on most slavic countries flags. Blue colour is also colour from Moravia blazonry. And moravia was much more important than whole slovakia in that days. In fact czechs saved slovaks from hungarians, because if there was no czechoslovakia, then slovakia be just upper hungary. True part is that czechs and polish people used the same flag for same time, which was a bit confusing. Actually the "Nad Tatrou se blýská" was second strophe of Czechoslovakian national anthem. After 1993, the first strophe remains the anthem of the CZ and the second of the SVK. "Ať mír dál zůstává s touto krajinou" is the start of the Motlitba pro Martu. That was released 1968 by Marta Kubišová. It´s become a symbol of the Velvet revolution and now it is used on demonstrations, like for example Letná 2019. Czech people like peaceful protest, like using keys or songs.

To be more precise, the "Czech" republic could hardly have been a federative state from 1960 till 1993, because it was not established until January 1, 1993. It was then Czechoslovakia (simply put) that also included Slovakia. Using a federal structure within the mentioned period, it gradually used a few different names, as various political changes took place during that time. So, as time went on, the name of this state changed because of this: 1960-1990: ČSSR - Československá socialistická republika = Czechoslovak Socialist Republic, 1990: ČSFR - Československá federativní republika = Czechoslovak Federal Republic, 1990-1993: ČSFR - Česká a Slovenská Federativní Republika = Czech and Slovak Federal Republic.

Nejen že ty dvě republiky neměly své vlastní ústavy a byly zřízeny jinou republikou, ale žádná z těch republik dlouho neměla ani ústavní soud - podle ústavy ji měly mít všechny tři. Od roku 1969 do roku 1990 ty dvě nové republiky neměly své hymny, vlajky a fakticky nemohly stejně skoro o ničem rozhodovat. A ani před rokem 1969 nebylo Československo úplně unitární. Na Slovensku měli od druhé světové války prakticky nepřetržitě Slovenskou národní radu, k tomu do roku 1960 ještě Sbor pověřenců, tedy de facto slovenskou vládu. Některé zákony byly vydávány jen pro Slovensko, a československá vláda pak paralelní zákon vydávala jen s platností pro "ˇčeské kraje". Například památkový zákon č. 22/1958 Sb. má v § 28 větu "Tento zákon platí jen v českých krajích.". Takže fakticky si Slováci udrželi autonomii i ve formálně jakoby unitárním státu.

Seriously though, it's extremely complicated and I doubt Jen would know much about this as it didn't affect her.
Pro zajímavost: Původně se skutečně používala "všeslovanská" bíločervená vlajka, ale protože ji používá jako státní vlajku Polsko, byla přidána modrá barva, stejně jako na (moderní, dnešní) vlajku Ruska, v 90. letech. A nejen to, dokonce jsme měli neoficiálně i stejnou hymnu, a nejen my. Píseň "Hej Slované" byla hymnou dokonce tří zemí, naší, Polskou a Jugoslávskou! :D Ovšem, vždy s pozměněnými slovy. Tam, kde my jsme zpívali "hej Slované", tam Poláci zpívají "ještě Polsko nezhynulo", a Jugoslávská hymna začínala jako ta naše, jen v jejich jazyce, tedy "hej Sloveni". Další zajímavost je, že naše hymna je z divadelní hry Fidlovačka, a byla zkrácena o jednu sloku, čímž bohužel vznikl nesmysl. Původní slova jsou v 1. sloce tázací (smysl je: "kde je domov můj, ptáte se mě?"), ve 2. sloce odpovídací (smysl je: "Tam, kde lidí mluví jako já, tedy česky, v zemi České domov mám"). Tím, že byla zkrácena, zbylo "Já nevím kde bydlím..." :( A také se změnila tónina, kvůli hraní velkými orchestry se změnila na uplakanou mollovou, která "zní pompézněji". To zařídili za Protektorátu Němci. A Komunisté to rádi nechali takto. Doporučuji si poslechnout - třeba zde, na YT - záznam Marešovy písně z divadelní hry. Není to uplakaná, ufňukaná píseň, jakou ji učinila hymna, ale bojovná, radostná a hrdá. Nu což.
Bílá a červená nebyla ‘vše-slovanskou’ barvou. Jde o reprezentaci znaku země: stříbrný lev ve skoku s rozeklaným ocasem a zlatou zbrojí na červeném poli. V ‘přepisu’ na vlajku jde o bílou a červenou. I u Poláků jde o stejný princip. Panslavizmus je až zál. 1/2 19. století. Původní zemskou hymnou byl chorál Hospodine, pomiluj ny. Pak Svatý Václave. A pak až s rozvojem nacionalizmu Kde domov můj. Hej Slované bylo přidáváno v rámci pan-slavistické ideologie, která se s českým nacionalizmem pojila. Nikoli nutně. Pan-slavizmus byl propagován carskou tajnou policí. Přijat za svůj pouze u části Čechů a Srbů.
@@abulafios Ano, samozřejmě. Napsal jsem to špatně, místo "původně" jsem měl napsat "v 19. století". Máte pravdu. Nicméně, v tom století, a částečně i dodnes, je bíločervená vlajka stále považována za jakousi všeslovanskou, byť jen částí Slovanů. Panslovanství je blbost. Kdokoli se podívá na českou a slovenskou kulturu na jedné straně, a např. na polskou a východněslovanskou kulturu na straně druhé, musí vidět propastné rozdíly. O jihoslovanských odlišnostech ani nemluvě. Ostatně na to měla vliv i rozdílná historie, a to vč. časového rozdílu. Na nás měla mnohem větší vliv latina a němčina, i kdybychom nepobrali Sáma tak od VM nepochybně. I kdyby se carská policie roztrhala, nikdy bychom nebyli jako Rusi... a oni to věděli. Věděli to i za SSSR a ví dodnes. Ostatně sami o nás říkají že nejsme žádní slované, ale "jen" slovansky mluvící germáni :D Britové zase často říkají, že jsme naprostá výjimka, a sice že se chováme jako bychom byli na ostrově - uprostřed pevniny :)
K otázce o hymně doporučuji si najít něco k písni která začíná slovy "Ať mír dál zůstává...". Dle mého soudu dost souvisí s naší historií 20. století a navíc Modlitba pro Martu je krásná píseň od úžasné interpretky...
It's wierd test. I would put there like flag up side down etc. Btw two lions on coat of arma is for Bohemia and Czech republic. For Jan: there wasn't Slovakian cross because Czechoslovakia was using whole different coat of amrs. (just for short period of federal state 1991-1993 it was little but simillar - two czech lions and two slovaks crosses).
It is difficult to distinguish the Czech lion from the Bohemian lion. :-) A legend about the Bohemian Lion and Bruncvík is inspired by the German legend about Heinrich der Löwe (Jindřich Lev) and his lion statue at Bruneczwig. The original symbol of Bohemia was the Saint-Wenceslaus Eagle.

The repetition of czech lion comes from rules of heraldic. When you divide the coat to four areas but you only have three symbols to use then you just double the upper left symbol to the down right corner. PS sorry for my english

@@krystofnovak1852 je to uplne zakladni heraldicke pravidlo. Stit ma strany rozdelene z pohledu toho, kdo jej drzi. ;-) I zdanlive banalni otazky mohou mit nesamozrejme odpovedi. Urednik, co si to neoveril by zaslouzil srazku ze mzdy.

Question 4: It’s 1: small state shield, 2: presidential standard, 3: country’s flag, 4: big state shield. The two birds are not chickens but female eagles. You can tell male and female eagle in shields by number of heads. Two heads (like in Russia) mean a male eagle, one head means female eagle. Same goes with number of lion’s tails. Actually, you were right about the flag. Czech flag originally IS the same as Polish. The blue triangle was inserted there to create the Czecho-Slovak national flag. When C-S was collapsing, the Czechs kept the C-S flag (despite Slovaks protesting) because they no longer identified themselves with the white-and-red flag.
Actually, our flag at the beginning of our state was just white and red (flag of Bohemia, and also the flag of the Lands of the Bohemian Crown) Those were colours of the Přemyslovci dynasty if I'm correct. But we needed to distinguish between our and Polish flag, and also have it represent the whole land, so the Blue triangle was added, that represented Slovakia. After the split of Czechoslovakia, we were supported to make a new flag, because of the pact with Slovaks, but we eventually agreed, that we can keep the flag. It's interesting, because if you put it simply, it means, that there are two countries with a flag, that represents Slovakia. Poles also have two versions of their flag, on the State flag there is the Polish coat of arms.
Well the flag of Czech kindom was what the Polish people use now, just white row on top of the red row. Czech flag was born in 1919, when to the bicolor was added a blue wedge - symbol of Slovakia

So I’ve been living in North America for over 10 years with my wife. I’m Czech she is Canadian. We (that means she haha) decided that I’ll apply for Canadian citizenship so we don’t have to renew PR card ( green card) every 5 years. Renewalcost is 500 bucks, can you imagine how many beers you can buy for that? anyway, I told her, if I get Canadian citizenship you should get Czech. After watching few videos she is like, that seems wayyy tooo complicated. I think she is right, I’ll fail these tests as well and yeah I was born there.
Well, bohemia is there twice, because it was historicaly the driving part of the state, silezia was polish, and moravia was a place for younger members of royal families to try their leadership skills (and even now Brno is concidered as a kind of suburb of Wiena) for most of it´s history.
Ve skutečnosti Slezsko nebylo Polské… stalo se vedlejší zemí Koruny a Wratislav byla druhým nejdůležitějším městem po Praze. V případě, že Český zemský sněm nepracoval, zemské zákony přijímal wratislavský. Což se dělo např. za husitských válek. Král Zikmund vládl a zákony vydával na zasedáních wratislavského sněmu. Co se Moravy týče: Olomouc byla hlavním městem až do 30.leté války, kdy byla ponížena za to, že se vzdala Švédům, resp. Brno bylo povýšeno za obranu proti Švédům. Později došla na pátku ubránění Brna i k povýšení moravského zemského znaku: stříbrná šachovnice byla povýšena na zlatou (místo bílé použita žlutá). To násl. odmítla 1.republika z ideologických důvodů a vrátila se k bílé.
@@abulafios Nikoliv. Žlutou do moravského znaku zavedl v roce 1462 Fridrich III Habsburský, když "strkal rypák tam, kam neměl". Jiří z Poděbrad, právoplatný král, to nepotvrdil. Od té doby se táhnou spory, takže i za Rakouska se používaly obě verze, což je dobře vidět na historických budovách.
Reason that Polish and Czech flag looks similarly is that Polish has white eagel (not chicken :-) ) on read field and Czechg has White lion on read field and acording Heraldical rule color of flag come from Emblems
History heraldic rules made Czech and Poland royal standards the same (White Lion/Eagle on red backgroud -> White top, red bottom). Considering this Czech old White/red flag is older than the one of Poland. We decided to change our flag by adding blue triangle originally as Slovakian part of the flag, today it is Moravian part (non of this is officially stated). Fun fact is, the flag, when you wanna hang it and make triangle on top, you have to flip the colors. Normally when blue is on top (you turn the flag 90°), red should be on the left side. But it is on the right.
The flag of the Czech Kingdom was only red and white, but Czechoslovakia had more parts than the Czech Kingdom, so at the end of 1918 a commission was formed to select a new flag. A především, Česká republika tu vlajku Československu sprostě ukradla navzdory výslovnému zákazu ústavním zákonem, a to ještě v době, kdy československá republika, matka České republiky, ještě ležela na smrtelná posteli a dodýchávala. Ale zase je to o to lepším symbolem esence češtství - kdo nekrade, okrádá vlastní republiku.

Tedy zákon České národní rady č. 3/1993 Sb. ze dne 17. prosince 1992 naprosto jednoznačně pošlapával ústavní zákon Československa i politické dohody, které ten zákon vyjadřoval. Ale to by nebyli Češi, aby všechno nějak neobešli a nepřečurali, že? Na jednu stranu se Česká republika chce tvářit jako nástupnický stát Československa, na druhé straně ovšem své matce nachcala ne na hrob, ale přímo do smrtelné postele. Ty by ses nestyděl někam přijít ve svátečním kabátu, o kterém všichni vědí, že jsi ho předtím ukradl nebo o něj někoho oloupil?
Vlajka českých zemí byla bílá a červená, po 1. světové válce jsme si ji chtěli nechat, ale Polsko ji mělo dříve, tak se přidal modrý klín :D Jinak dobrá pomůcka je, že červená je dole, protože obráceně by stekla na bílou

Myslím, že tam je dvakrát jen proto, že je to prostě čtvrcený znak a jsou na něm jen 3 symboly. A čtvrcené erby v tom případě opakují ten symbol, který je v horním levém rohu. A tam je stříbrný lev, a to proto, že se na tom poslanci při schvalování dohodli. A dohodli se proto, že tam něco být muselo a že to tak navrhl výtvarník heraldik a líbilo se jim to a dávalo to smysl. Možná s vysvětlením, že lev byl dříve symbol rodu vládnoucí celému soustátí, nebo že jsou Čechy největší a nejlidnatější část, byly na rozdíl od ostatních království apod. Takový lidovější výklad pak byl, že čtvrtý znak je za celé Česko (Malý státní znak má lva taky pro celé Česko). Ale je to kvůli čtvrcenému erbu. Zajímavost je, že lev na velkém znaku a na malém znaku vypadá odlišně, z jistých praktických důvodů. Ale moc se to neví, hlavně když někdo dal na wiki verzi, která neodpovídá znaku ze zákona o státních symbolech, asi protože se mu nechtělo lva z velkého znaku znovu překreslovat do vektoru a nakopíroval tam lva z malého.

It was always the Kingdom of Bohemia, or eventually the Lands of Bohemian crown, the name of the whole country was abbreviated as Bohemia and it is from this name that we derive our name so doubling Bohemia really does make sense.
I like the question about the national anthem. All the songs presented have a deep symbolic value associated with ČR. But to know them requires a knowledge level far beyond that required by the test. So, you can fail this question only when you are way too smart... :-D Perhaps the intention was to filter out applicants overly intelligent and knowledgeble who would otherwise disturb our Czech rural tranquility... :-D

@@jaromir.adamec Dal jsem ty samé otázky patnácti různým Čechům nad 30 let a jen jeden odpověděl na vše správně - a i ten si u dvou otázek tipnul. Modlitbu pro Martu neznal nikdo z nich. To je úplně stejné jako s češtinou. Já se češtinu šprtal, abych zapadl mezi české spolužáky. Teď ovládam českou gramatiku i pravopis líp než většina Čechů. Reprezentoval jsem kdysi i moji základku na češtinářské olympiádě :) Většině Čechů je úplně jedno, nakolik ovládají svůj jazyk nebo znají svoji historii a symboliku - jejich českou příslušnost kvůli tomu totiž nikdo zpochybňovat nebude.

Že jsou Češi, kteří nedovedou z fleku odpovědět na všechny tyhle otázky a ještě neznají "Modlitbu pro Martu", mě dost upřímně šokuje, ale co naděláme. Je to asi tak, že identitu každého národa drží vzdělaná menšina. Když se člověk podívá třeba na Brexit, tak zjevně velká většina prostomyslných angličanů vůbec nebyla schopná dohlédnout, že tím rozhodnutím "make UK great againt" svůj stát naopak přivedou na okraj rozpadu, protože takové subtilní otázky, jako politický status Severního Irska nebo vzhtah Skotů k Británii evidentně přesahovaly jejich intelektuální horizont.
zas bych tomu az moc nefandil, delal jsem na personalnim v jedne montovne na severu Cech a tam jsem poznal co to je lidska hloupost. Zahranicnim delnikum jsme davali takovy test (umis se podepsat, pokud ano podepis se. kolik je 8+9, 26-17, apod. Karel ma 8 kulicek, evzen 5 kulicek a pavel 9 kolik kulicek ma Karel a Pavel? Team A vyhral 5 zapasu, Team B 3 Zapasy a team C 4 zapasy, ktery z teamu vyhral nejmene?) Jednou jsme ze srandy dali i ten test cechum co se k nam hlasili a vyjma prvni otazky, tak snad kazdy mel nekde chybu. kdyz se podivam na ty otazky co tu zatim byly na obcanstvi, tak ten test je spise o chapani psaneho textu, urcity politicky a historicky prehled a hlavne selekce od naprostych blbcu.
@@jojova3776 Oproti těm českým "inženýrům" jsem rád za Ukrajince. Celkem pravidelně má vždy někdo z nich vysokoškolské vzdělání a normální myšlení, že nacházíme lidi do účtárny, kontrolu kvality či vedoucí linky. Problém je teď co posledních pár let přišlo z Bulharska/Rumunska.

Honzu by možná ještě zajímalo, že původně byla "českým" knížecím znakem orlice (tzv. svatováclavská), tak jako je tomu v případě orlice moravské nebo slezské. Nový český královský znak zavedl až ve 13. století Přemysl II., zvaný v německých zemích Otakar, jinak také král zlatý (bohatý) a železný (mocný). Znak nese královskou korunu a lev má dva ocasy, protože se snažil Přemysl Otakar říci, že je tak mocný a svrchovaný, že jedním ocasem mává papežem a druhým římsko- německým císařem.
Hypotéz o významu zdvojeného ocasu je víc. Například ten, že Přemysl začal tento erb používat v době, kdy se musel o vládu dělit se svým otcem, Václavem I., a vyjadřoval toto dvojvládí. Kronikář Dalimil uváděl ještě jiné vysvětlení, ale to historici považují spíše za smyšlenku.

"Coat of arms" sounds like there is a coat, full of arms and you can't be sure, if those are real guns or hands, chopped of , so it is some sort of coat belonging to some pervert... One of the wrong answers for the "national anthem" question - "Ať mír dál zůstává s touto krajinou", the song is called "Modlitba pro Martu" - "The prayer for Martha", the song was composed in 1968, the year, when the Russians came to "watch over us". And it became the main song of the Velvet Revolution in 1989 - cs.wikipedia.org/wiki/Modlitba_pro_Martu I love Slovakian national anthem way better than the czech one. I think the anthem should be vigorous in all cases, nothing slow or cry-a-like. In the terms of the czech flag... Red-blue-white combination is not bad, maybe it is the most used combination (well, maybe the arabic states - red-black-white is used more often), but in my opinion, the best combination of the colours used within flags is BLUE-WHITE-BLACK, like the Estonians have.

Pamatuj si, že vzdělávat se musíš sama a ne čekat, co ti řeknou ve škole. Většinou podstatných věcí se člověk dozví doma, od své rodiny, známých, z knih a filmů, setkáváním s lidmi, cestováním, prací. Škola to může jen lehce doplnit. Ale je fakt, že v životě jsou důležitější věci, než jak se říká které fangličce.
