Thanks for posting this. I tried to make it work in Italy last year and hit a lot of walls. I found out that I couldn’t get citizenship because my father had to renounce his Italian citizenship before I was born, and according to the current law, they see that as breaking the bloodline. Which I was really irritated by. I had companies wanting to hire me (to teach English), but they would not make the work visa - some even said that even if a company applies for it, the government may not approve it. Employment priority goes to EU citizens, not Americans. People really need to know visa and other legal realities before they get drunk off the Italian Dream. Also, Italy is having an immigration problem, and that affects trying to live there as well. Lots of legal issues. For those of us trying to live and work there legitimately, it’s not really a reality.
