The ready position you've been in is probably wrong...at least in my opinion it is. If you're perpetually squatted down when you ride, you can't take advantage of physics. Stay as tall as you can for the situation you're in and BE DYNAMIC!!
Follow along in this video and get my insight on the "proper" ready position according to The Ride Series Master Certification standards.

I remember doing this at the ride series with you in March. I am trying to pass all of this onto my young shredder son. Thanks for being a great teacher. See you sometime in the jump series!

I really enjoy your perspectives on riding! We actually made it out to Bentonville a few weeks ago and saw you filming. I was the big guy riding with the baby in a red backpack 🎒 👶

That coral/salmon/pink color Fezzari did is SO sick. They should have kept that as THEIR color similar to Yeti and their turquois.

Just a suggestion… there were large blocks of you talking to the camera and covering some quite useful info. I think it would’ve been more engaging to see a few edits spliced into the video illustrating those concepts and leaving your voice as an overlay. I just felt a bit overwhelmed with too much talk and not enough “show me” footage to reinforce the concepts. Thanks for the great content.

I prefer hinging more and keeping elbows relatively neutral. Rolling over an obstacle, the bar path is more an arc around the BB and not so much a linear motion following the fork. Dropping the elbows a bit more allows riders to stay even more relaxed and puts them in a stronger position to pull or push on the bars. Squatting is bad though. And so is being tense. So your opinion is not 100% wrong. 😉

my buddy brought me to a new trail and we were descending pretty fast, i spot a sudden blind drop and instinctively i dropped into a low hinge and fired down that drop ... it was such a rush
