You are a NATURAL comedian ... I loved your video!!! Seriously ... your words, your presentation, your pauses, your looks ... do stand up comedy for sure. I am 58 yrs old and I am always looking for natural methods of working with my hair ... and I've watched a LOT of video's of young girls (some guys) and yours was the BEST!!!
I love this video and I love you! :P Just wanted to share that microwaving honey might not be the best idea, because it kills its enzymes, which may be good for your hair :) Just thought it might help!! Anywayyyys. Thank you again for the video!
I love your sense of humor :) I was smiling the whole time watching this (I hope that doesn't sound creepy lol). And you are 100% Aries! Nicely edited.

@Twistedpleasure239 As I explained in the video the reason honey lightens hair is because it has small amounts of hydrogen peroxide in it. So no I didn't add any peroxide to the honey, it's already in it.
I thought I replied to this comment but just in case- I am using rinse out conditioner. You could also use coconut oil or olive oil. It just helps moisturize the hair and make the honey application smoother. Good luck :)
My hair did not go brassy but I have also never dyed it. The honey is pretty subtle for blondes until you do it a few times. I have heard cinnamon is more for brunettes and redheads but you aren't going to get an extreme change with natural products so I say go for it. Just be careful with the cinnamon because it is a natural irritant which could bother your scalp, do research before you try anything. Good luck!
I have never dyed my hair so I'm not sure how it will be affected. The amount of peroxide in the honey is very diluted but it's still there. I would approach this as if you were using a very dilute peroxide formula. If you wouldn't use even a diluted peroxide in your hair, I'd be cautious with honey. But again, I'm not sure so my advice is to look it up :)
It's whatever you prefer. If you started with clean hair then it's unnecessary to use shampoo when rinsing out the honey, but it will take longer to get the honey mix out.
i wanna say that it totally worked for me !!!!thanks a lottttttttt i kept it for 2 hours and actually my roots are a lot of lighter now !!!i m gonna do it again to light them more!!!thanksssssssssss a lot!!!
Haha don't worry! It is not that dramatic, it's a very subtle lightener. You will notice the effects more if your hair is darker but it still takes a few times to get really noticeable results. This isn't bleach, your hair will not get to my color. It's similar to getting your hair lightened by the sun.
This really works , I Had blonde hair dyed it black , did this , then i went to light brown after the 3 rd time and thinking of dyeing it back to blonde . I hope it works with the dye , I keep you posted !!!
greetings from costa rica!! i did it and i loved it!! i am doing it for a second time right know! my hair is so healthy although it is slow it is the best option to keep your hair healthy and beautiful thank you tia :) u save me! (guys sorry for my english)
Thanks! I have done it twice and it definitely looks lighter and feels healthier. I died my hair from dark blonde to dark brown and this still works well to lighten it a bit without any brassy look. Thanks for posting the video!
Yes. The honey lightens hair and the sun lightens hair. I don't know if they will increase the amount of lightening effectiveness together but heat and sunlight usually do have a positive effect on this kind of thing.
Until you have the results you want. I have no idea how long it will take for your hair reach your desired lightness. But if you want faster results I recommend sleeping with the mixture in your hair if you can. You can theoretically do this treatment every day so the speed is up to you.
Of course, it's fantastic for your hair. Now if you just put it in and then rinse it out it won't lighten but if all you're looking for is soft hair this will work wonderfully :)
I definitely shampoo it but usually don't feel the need to condition after this treatment. Yes it changed my hair color but as I said in the video on blondes it is a more subtle change and needs to be repeated for more dramatic results.
i was fowelling the steps as you were doing them :) i have blonde hhair but had put blue and pink in it and applied for a job and so i was looking for videos on how to lighten hair and this one caught my eye thank you!
I would think so but if you've bleached your hair these results will seem very gradual/unnoticeable in comparison. But I would suggest doing it anyways because if you've bleached your hair it could probably use some deep conditioning!
With black hair I'm not sure, it's kind of its own category. But if your hair is just very dark brown then one try should give you visible results. But it still differs for everybody. Good luck :)
I tried it and I could see a difference after the first time! My hair is dark brown.. I'm def gonna do it again :) It also makes the hair real soft and shiny.
Wanted to share my experience with this... I dye my hair all the time, 3 months ago I got my hair salon dyed a dark brown with deep violet tones. I'm bored with the blah brown it has faded into since then but I really don't want to damage my hair with more dye and want to try to get my natural hair back, which is a dirty blonde. Last night I tried the vitamin C/shampoo striping method and it got some of the brown out. Then I did this honey/deep conditioner and left on for 2 hours. THIS WORKS!
i was bored at night so i did this (yeah, normal...) and i don't see any difference in the colour, but at least my hair feels really really soft and healthy :') thanks for the video anyway!
I'm not sure but I don't see why not. Basically if hydrogen peroxide would work on whatever you would like to color, this should too, just in a more subtle way. And thanks :)
Ok tried it. I have no idea where to get raw honey so I used 100% pure honey (cheap kind too only 1.99) bought at the store and left in for two hours. I have really dark almost black hair so lighting it one shade wouldn't make a noticeably difference. BUT! It turns out the darkness of my hair was masking natural highlights. My hair may still look almost black but there's a new, kind of golden, dimension to it now. Tomorrow I'm off on search of raw honey. And my hair is REALLY soft!
It should but it would be a lot of work for just the tips. You could try it but if it's just your ends I would say bleach them, ends are usually damaged anyways and you can chop them if you don't like it.
Not sure what the results would be. But I would just remember that it's hydrogen peroxide. If a large amount of HP would work on dyed hair then it is probable that a small amount would as well. But I can't predict the results so I would proceed with caution.
Like I've said in the video, honey is actually good for the hair. The amount of peroxide in it is small enough that it's safe enough to eat. You could probably use this every day without a problem, besides perhaps over moisturizing your hair :)
You are absolutely HILARIOUS!!! Love the video, I think I'll give it a try eventually (that is once I get my parents' approval, who knows how hard that'll be)
If your hair is naturally black then yes, it should work. Like I said in the video my roomie had black/brown hair and it was a shade lighter after one use, although results will be different for everyone. You can try using it as a highlighter but it would be a lot of work. Good luck!
Be careful what "honey" you buy. A lot of honey on the market, whether it is in a bear or not, is high fructose corn syrup and other things, It has been tested to have no pollen so it can't be honey. So it may not have hydrogen peroxide naturally occurring or otherwise. Best to buy from a health food store or road side stand from a bee keeper. Thanks for the vid!
My general disclaimer is that everyone's hair is different and I have never tried this on dyed hair but no, I can't see this turning your hair orange. You should be totally fine. Good luck :)
omg!! this look ssssoooo coool!!!! ^0^d I was looking for a way to make my hair lighter but not by bleaching and I guess you just gave me the answer!! I'll be patient but will definitely try this when I go home tonight >0< THanks!!!!
This video...It was awesome. :) I haven't tried this method, though if I ever have enough honey I will. I just ran out because I was using it for my tea, it really helps when I have Bronchitis. Anyway! :) You're hilarious, you should definitely make more videos.
Yes, as I said in the video. Raw is the best but any honey should do. Just make sure it is actually honey, a lot of stores now carry what is advertised as honey but is actually flavoured corn syrup *shudder.*
Hey! The conditioner you're using, is it that kind you use when you're normally showering and you're hair is wet and have to rinse it out? Or is it the kind where you can put it in when you're hair is dry? Much love from Denmark.
lol there's a lot of sarcasm but i think you should've shown a before and after of the whole process with the same hair style. just a tip (you probably can't change now lol)
If hydrogen peroxide would work on your hair then this method should as well. But everyone's hair is different and dye will change your hair so results will vary.
Like I said I'm not sure what the effects will be as my hair isn't dyed. I would maybe do a test strip in your hair, but the effects are pretty subtle so I can't see it doing anything horrible to your hair. But again I don't know.
I have this is my hair now!!! Im doing 2 peek-a-boos! I also added a bit of cinnamon to the mixture!! cant wait to see the results!!! Im gonna sleep in it!!
Hahha iLOVE your humor ;D and thanks soo much. Ilike lightening my hair since I'm narturally black/dark brown and iused to bleach my hair but stopped because it was soo damaging. I'm soo happy that there's and effective natural way to do it. ^-^ Iwill be doing this sometime in the future after ipass my no poo challenge :)
i totally enjoyed this video... I dyed my hair from my natural blonde color to jet black. WORST DECISION EVER. So I just might try this cause the hot oil isn't doing much anymore
I have black hair , i used to mix honey and cinnamon together , cinnamon did extremely dehydrated my hair and barely gave a color , so i stopped using cinnamon i'll try honey w/ conditioner only i hope it results well, thanks.
