This is actually an effective technique 😂 there was a time where I would explain how to do the homework to my friend, and I always have to review the material beforehand so I'm not telling him the wrong things. . . whenever he comes up with a question, it would also give me a chance to dig deeper into that concept and try to explain it better
Literally same- like I also have a friend who constantly asks questions 🤔 and then they apologized for asking a lot lmao but I said it’s alright and great even cause it serves as practice for me too~
I do this technique with my homework lmao, it's both productive and helpful. Granted, does take a little longer, but it's still great for if I'm not too confident or just learned something new!
I use this so much when I'm stuck on a math problem. I'll literally call my mum into my room, and have her just stare at me while I teach her high school calculus😂
Yes!!!! Speaking out loud to yourself and just having conversations with yourself are KEY to having certain topics that you’re studying stick with you!
Our teacher actually had us do this. It was a very small AP class (9 people), so, before the exam, he said everyone would have to teach a summary of the entire year to the rest of the class. He then gave the presenter a sheet of paper with notes on what the student should go over. Best teacher in the world, I miss him so much
I think this one of the best ways to properly understand and recall a topic. I've used this technique for a few weeks now and I've gotten an average increase of 50% marks for my exams and tests. Thank you
Omg I have a history exam tomorrow, I saw this video like 20 minutes before and I can already tell it changes my life... Thank you so much, I really appreciate it
bro i do this. actually helps so much with figuring out what you understand fully and what you dont. It's great for ap history because its sorta similar to how you think about what to write for an LEQ or a dbq
this is called active Recall, its basically when you take out a sheet of paper and start writing all the things you know or could possibly remember about a certain topic and after your done you check what points you missed or the areas you had difficulty remembering and then work on theses areas, this is the best study technique I have found so far it saves so much time and improves my understanding
Bro it's very effective. I just pretended I was teaching or talking to someone about my topic and that way I can remember the topic more. It's very effective for people who don't have a great memory 👌
A few other good techniques are simply rewriting ur notes because writing helps stimulate ur memory, playing a catchy song on low volume that way u could associate what u learned with the song, or simply teaching others in a group setting
I love this technique! I use it all the time and it really helps. I normally practice on a whiteboard because I think it’s more fun that way and plus I would love to become a teacher! ❤️
Damnnn I have been using that technique since years especially during covid When you explain stuffs to an invisible person you are talking listening as well as reading it helps a lot 🙂
Gohar, this habit ties into your Schoolhouse video: this is another reason to start tutoring at Schoolhouse! (Saw your tutoring profile there, btw; congratulations on becoming a platinum tutor!) Would love to see more Schoolhouse-related study advice videos too!
this seriously works really well, especially if u mix it with pomodoro and if u teach from ur own notes. i easily ace my science and business studies exams like this.
I didn’t know this was already a technique, I’m a Gacha animator and I would do this to remember all the steps, but I didn’t know it could actually help with school too. 😊
My friend and I do this trick where we get 2 sections of Korea to study he does half I do half and we teach them to each other we also rewrite the notes twice on paper because it is physiologically proven that it is easier to memorise something you wrote down rather than something you typed
I used this technique to memorise and label the United States map with all of its states, lakes, mountain systems, and other prominent geographic features. I also read and recited the states in a specific order: northernmost to southernmost, then east, and repeat. These activities all totaled 60 percent or more of my final test. I only had one night before the test, and I spent only two minutes learning each one. I had *no* previous knowledge of this section. My final score was a 97 percent, and I made no mistakes on the section I had learned in 90 minutes. Pretty decent considering how I had just learned 60 percent of the test material just 8 hours prior to the test. That map from World Geography still haunts me today. It's been months and I can still label all the states and lakes, along with the rivers and other geographic features. That's how powerful this technique is. It also helped me score a 92 percent on an algebra test after I scored an 80 on the previous one, then a 100 percent on an algebra quiz after I scored a 95 on the previous one. The rest of my grades are all A+, and it would not be possible without self lecturing.
This is why I find it easier when someone is teaching me then when I'm teaching myself. I can try to copy how that person teaches and therefore just know all the information. Its honestly the best way to learn, it's to teach
I remember I had a couple friends in bio class that couldn't keep up with the lessons, so they often asked me for help so they could understand. This really helped me memorize a lot
This is actually an effective technique, I tried it the night before my science finals and I got full marks... I pretended to teach all the topics that I was weak at, after a break asked myself questions about the topics and tried to dig deeper into the topic. This technique really helped me...
