Re-reading is a number one for me. I never actually get bored of my stories because I'm such a good storyteller (in a non-cocky way). I say this in the sense that I have such a wild imagination and I know how to make up good stories. My situation is that I get tired of actually writing it. I never get bored of the story itself, I get tired and lose motivation in the process of making it come to life. But when I go back and re-read, I end up falling in love again and that gives me my next dose of energy for the next few chapters. It's so bad that it takes me months to write a few chapters because I get so bored of the writing part. I think the trick to re-reading - whether its because you are bored of your story or tired of writing, is to actually give yourself a break from that story, allow yourself to miss it for a while, then re-read.

I wrote again for the first time in like 4 weeks today, since I got the flu and it lead to writers block. Getting back, I wrote a scene I was struggling with the whole time but I got through it. I can't really tell any1 irl and this community is great so I just wanted to share :)

I just made a wallpaper for my characters aesthetics and it just made me start to love my idea and my characters again. My current WIP is the longest thing I've worked on and it's only been a few months, and sometimes I get tired of it. So then I just take breaks from it, sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't.

This helps so much! Usually, I start a new project, write about 5-10 thousand words, get burnt out and then start a new one. Rinse and repeat. I'm excited to apply this knowledge to my new projects! ❤️

Omg, this came at just the right time! I just was talking about this in my last video lol. I feel like it’s so easy to bail on a project after spending so much time with it. It doesn’t even matter how much you love writing. Thanks for the very necessary tips! 💕

I'm so in a blah stage rn. My characters are currently in Virginia, a place I grew up visiting. And I struggling to get them through that part and into the next state, a state I've hardly been to but absolutely love. Also, u feel like the way I write (following the characters' lead) too much drama happened too fast. It works great, and it's amazing even in rough draft stages, but I've never had drama like that happen so fast in a project.

Thank you so much! I’m currently writing a plot for the book I’m making. I don’t have a title for it yet, but its about this girl named amber who has been looking for her missing dad for a couple years. She gets this unknown call saying they know where he is but she first has to complete a scavenger hunt. I’m not gonna go too too far into detail but basically she keeps finding mindless clues (like pieces of clothing that weren’t even her fathers). Anyways, the villain of this book happens to be her best friend. I get so much inspiration from you and I can’t wait to continue my book! So again, thank you!✨

Thanks for these great tips 😊 what I sometimes do is that I try to build/plot a past event that might have led to to the current situation in my book or a side story that's not gonna be influencing the main story majorly but just a tiny bit. Usually it's not only fun to create new characters that also comply to the rules of the same universe I created but to also find the connection points to the main story :D

I have sadly lost love for my story. I don't know how to make it fun anymore. I feel distant from it right now. Technically I haven't written much (*cough* it was a paragraph *cough*) . I've had an idea for 3 years, it's been on the concept stage because I'm trying to understand the character’s goal, want, and fear but I keep being undecisive. I make one decision one day, and the next day I change my mind. So far I have two ideas on what the character can want but I doubt that decision. I don’t know how to fix that. How can I enjoy writing when it stresses me out 😅. I feel like I'm putting too much pressure on myself. I really want to write a story for myself. I really needed this video!!!! Thank you!!!!

Reminds me of the time I gave up on a 50k word story. It was so ridiculous and derailed that I felt cringe rereading it. Well ... Some stories are never ment to be written. I actually miss the times I used to listen to some specific songs and think of the characters and scenes.

I've got the beginning, middle and ending semi finished. But the fantasy side is there, but it's the science part I need to figure out at the end to glue it all together. This is what is stopping me from feeling happy about my books journey. How do I get around this?

I’m working on a story, I’ll see if I can leave it here😅 I’m only 10, so it may sound a little weird😓 (this is my progress, I haven’t finished) Monritrii silently crept out from under the shelter, rain soaking his clothes into a shriveled grey. The storm hadn’t cleared, yet Siyo still resisted in hiding. Her once glimmering eyes had now turned grey too, matching the environment. Her eyelashes glistened from the rain’s droplets, her tears hidden in the soak of her face. Monitrii stared into Siyo’s grieving iris’s, forcing himself to run to her. “Sister,” he shouted. The moment Siyo’s eyes met with her younger brothers’s, her legs seemed to freeze and she had fallen into the rocks and mud. Monitrii screamed in agony when the older children took his arms and dragged him into the town. Siyo had frozen in the rain, huffing and crying, no chance at moving to the far shelter. The rain flooded her ears and the screams of Monitrii seemed to fade out. Monitrii sat emotionless in front of the window. Even the gloomed panes seemed to shake in their frames. He had swept the floor, cleaned the attic, done the dishes. Now he must pray for Siyo’s sake. The older children had returned to their school. Monitrii could only imagine them throwing and kicking Siyo, her nose smothered in her own blood. He had to force a straight face. Tears were unwelcome to the triiocnor region, resulting in torture to death, much like Siyo. Tears were “sickening monsters” in Yordan, their native language, driving the townsfolk mad, causing them to torture and hurt grieving families. Every year, one family is to offer a child as a sacrifice in the crystal lake for revenge on the Yordan gods for tears. Isn’t that enough? The grief only thickens for whichever family is chosen, everyone is convinced that this is only to cause more tears as an excuse to kill. Monitrii suddenly saw Siyo come from the mist and into sight, the older children grasping her arms. Her face was smeared in scratches, yet she hadn’t noticed the smirk on the children’s faces. Monitrii caught eyes with her from the window, acting strange as ever. Just as Siyo was thrown in front of the hut, Monitrii ran out into the harsh rain and dragged her into warmth. The fire in the hut had lit, a light glow reflecting on every splint of wood. “Siyo, I can hear you’re spirit flaming,” admitted Monitrii. Monitrii couldn’t take care of Siyo, and he had to just sit with her in silence. “Monitrii… don’t worry… they won’t take you from me,” whispered Siyo. “The sacrifice ceremony, that’s what you’re saying,” answered Monitrii. Siyo held Monitrii close before the fire. The night soon ventured close, Siyo and Monitrii sitting in silence.😊

I think I may have imposter syndrome 😅 there is this one book I have been writing on and off for years and I’ll get around thirty chapters in and I’ll just look at it and be like this whole think is crap I need to rewrite it again. And I’ve don’t it so many times that I honestly never want to write anything again 😅 but I absolutely love the world and the characters and the actual plot of the book that I created but I don’t know. It’s like around thirty chapters my mind just melts and I can’t continue but the book isn’t anywhere near finished finished 😅😭😭
