Good stuff. I usually bracket the settings then slowly adjust for a specific trail or type of ride. I had a RFX 36 air on my Fuel 8 a few years ago. A great fork all around, especially on the bigger bumps and hits. Slow speed not so much. But I hear the M.2 version are much improved on the low speed compression end. Great setup on the bike. 👍

I've had a good amount of time riding these forks and have only tweaked the rebound for different tracks. I have gone up in pressure in the main chamber but staying pretty consistent in the ramp up so far. It's certainly an improvement over my previous bike setup. Cheers!

Hi, thanks for this video. I only miss 1 piece. Which is the starting point from where you start to rotate the spring? Just when the plastic o ring with the screw touch the spring, then you start to rotate how much is needed?
@ryandodgeshaw
@ryandodgeshaw 10 месяцев назад
Hi there. Give the spring no more than 2 full turns to set the sag. If you need more it will need to be a heavier spring rate to achieve the correct sag. Hope this helps? Thank you for watching.

2 full turns from which starting point?
@ryandodgeshaw
@ryandodgeshaw 10 месяцев назад
@@simonedeb Check the sag before you turn the spring. Aim for 30% sag and adjust harder or softer to suit. Use the logo on the spring as a guide for how many turn you do. Hope this helps

Hey Ryan, this is a little late, but I bought a pivot with ohlins but the suspension was set up for 100kg rider and im 65, so I need to release air. Is it the same process as in, release air in ramp up (bottom) chamber, then release air in top, then equalize. Cheers
@ryandodgeshaw
@ryandodgeshaw 9 месяцев назад
Hi there! Nice!…Release the air from the main chamber then the ramp up and start over. Set the ramp up chamber first then the main. Hope this helps?

How much psi in the fork would you go up for a full power e bike?
@ryandodgeshaw
@ryandodgeshaw 2 месяца назад
Depends. Get to 30% sag is a good start.

Where did you end up with rear sag on the meta sx?
@ryandodgeshaw
@ryandodgeshaw 6 месяцев назад
Hi! I've got it at around 30% but I am in the middle setting for compression, so have been advised by ohlins to think about a 433LBS spring as an option.

Do you start out with zero air in any chambers? Then inflate? If so in what order should I deflate?
@ryandodgeshaw
@ryandodgeshaw Год назад
Hi there. When I first got the forks it had no air. You have to pump up the ramp up chamber first before the main chamber. When I’m checking I always check the ramp up first then main after. Hope this helps
@przygodyzmtb
@przygodyzmtb 9 месяцев назад
@@ryandodgeshaw Why is that important to pump ramp up first? Also any ideas how to dial the fork to have better small bump sensitivity and work faster on rough stuff? Should I lower the air pressure, add ramp up and lower rebound?

How much$ both fork and shock?
@ryandodgeshaw
@ryandodgeshaw Год назад
Check with your local bike shop, if they don’t get them go directly to Ohlins.
@rider65
@rider65 7 месяцев назад
Typical price for the Gold Swedish fork is 1100 to 1500. Shock around the same, 1000 to 1200. A good sale could get you both for probably 1500. But you'll have to be lucky and comb the internet. Plus, you likely do not need 38mm stanchions. 36 is Plenty for stiffness and durability.
