In this video we go over How to oil the Juki TL sewing machine and where the oil goes. It is crucial to not over oil your Juki TL. This video will apply to all the Juki TL models. Make sure to log you oiling dates and change your oiling method as needed depending on your machines needs. We show you how to make sure your machine is happy :) We understand the user manual says differently however we find that its way to much that's why I show you how to check for yourself.

We have found this information to be the most up to date and accurate. Yes there is videos and info from the user manual that is different. However we have verified with Juki that oiling your machines every 4-6 hours is WAY to much. Please watch this video all the way through to get all the info. Thank you, David

Juki Junkies I did not see this video until now. I seem to have been guilty of oiling too regularly resulting in my thread cutter not working. The machine is sewing. Just the cutter not working. Would that be a mother board problem and if affirmative can I purchase a mother board?

I love my TL 2010. Do over oil. My trouble is I LOOOOVE oiling. Once my fingers get on that oil pen, it is so satisfying that I find it hard to stop. So over oiled. I have had oil leaking out the bottom but nowhere else. So must pullback a bit. Had my Juki for 3 years and just adore it for garment sewing, quilting, piecing, mending, everything. 80 year old from Australia. Thank you for the video.

I have always wondered "exactly" where to oil the bobbin hook. Thank you for the in-depth look at the internal workings so that we have a better understanding of our machines mechanics. So very helpful. Also, If anyone is having trouble with their threader not hooking the thread thru....order a new hook threader from Juki Junkies. It was a game changer...no frustration now!!! No kidding!

I love my Juki TL2000. I spend 3-5 hours sewing daily. I oil when I hear a difference in the way the machine is running. I use 1 drop of oil in each of the 4 locations at that time (about 1x a month), the hook with a full bobbin change and, every 5 empty bobbins, a thorough cleaning. The last time I took the machine in for a check up I asked if there was anything else I should be doing maintenance wise. He told me the machine looked great and to keep doing what I was doing. Hope he wasn’t fibbing😢.

Sounds like a good routine to me. Everyone's circumstances are a little different and that's why I showed you how to check. To insure there is no over oiling. Really the over oiling only happens on the top 4 holes the rest wont be issues :) Most people don't sew that much so 3-4 months is the perfect amount for them. Thanks for watching and commenting. - David

I've been good at oiling the top and bottom oil holes. Never knew about the bobbin case. So that's a new one on me. I do clean that section out frequently, usually after a project or two, depending on the fabric. Some fabrics, as everyone knows, manufacture lint. In my house, this translates to dust bunnies which, depending on the fabric color, are now colorful as well. LOL

I am thrilled that I found your channel. I bought my Juki TL-2010 a couple of years ago and immediately had to send it back due to an annoying squeak in the needle bar area. The store that I bought it from said that they oiled everything and I could still hear the squeak. I probably oiled the whole machine too much trying to get rid of the sound, but finally did. The squeak comes back periodically since I do sew quite a bit, but now I know where to oil it properly. Thank you so much for this video.

The user manual indicates much more frequent oiling, which I faithfully followed, and I had the problem of oily puddles under the machine. When I took it in for service, I was told the same thing as you are saying, to cut back on the frequency of oiling. I didn't know it could cause damage, though, so thanks for this information!

Great video. I was wondering just how often to oil my machine. And it was quite helpful to better understand the issues you can have from over oiling. I also saw a video where someone had taken some small stickers of flowers, like a small daisy, and punch a hole in the center. They then placed one of these stickers (which was just petals at this point) around each hole so you would be able to identify which holes to oil. I just need to find the right stickers.
@dcwatashi

You could buy those stickers that are usually used to reinforce the three hole punched holes in paper. I hope you know what I’m talking about

I purchased a juki at an estate sale and it was dripping in oil. I can testify to the fact that it does mess up the machine. The machine would stitch out 3 to 4 extra stitches, the thread cutter would not work correctly and the up/down needle botton would not work either. Luckly, I found a Juki tech that managed to clean and fix the machine. Your video is on point with what he recommends. Thank you for taking the time to share this video.
