This is so true. If I don't feel confident in my ollies, than I don't feel comfortable doing 90% of the tricks I can already do. Your ollies are what give you confidence and power

I wholeheartedly agree. How are we gonna build on something with skateboarding being as scary as it is… We have to feel comfortable

Riding switch helps in terms of understanding the correct balance point. 🙏🏻 Think about it. You HAVE to balance on your toes (both feet) so, the more comfortable you are skating switch, the more likely you are to balance correctly and, hence, pop higher. Regardless, your explanations are the best out there. 🙏🏻

I feel so lucky to find your channel. I saw few pro skaters share their own technique actively and precisely. I just skate 2.5 yrs and after applying those trick tips you gave, I found them improve my tricks so well. I now struggle with mini ramp tricks, and I wonder if you can make a series of tutorials about mini ramp tricks for beginners? I will be super appreciate it.
@SKATEiQ

Hey yeah, so we launched a Patreon with 170+ videos on it covering flat ground and vert. But were updating it monthly with new courses and the mini ramp course will be on there soon. Either 1 or 2 months from now most likely

Can you do a video showing feet placement, and are they in the same position as when you Ollie up a bank vs flat ground or do you adjust? I can stomp a good Ollie standing still but I always psych myself out when I try to gap something or Ollie onto a ledge or manny pad. I really want to do this 6 stair at my local but my feet placement is preventing me.
@SKATEiQ
@SKATEiQ 8 месяцев назад
I instead of thinking about that too much I would focus on getting your Ollie’s high and not stopping down on the ground too fast. It sounds like you have trouble getting into the air and floating for a while more than foot placwmwnt

I weigh 220. Idk if that’s why my Ollies are so low. I record myself and it looks like my hips are about as high as they can be but I’m only getting a 12 inch Ollie maybe a little more if I pop perfectly. So frustrating.
@TheRealWarez
@TheRealWarez 2 месяца назад
Film yourself jumping as high as you can from the standing position, without a skateboard... don't forget to suck your knees up into your chest... the height of your feet off the ground is, at a minimum, how high you can ollie. At a minimum. Remember, it's about getting your feet as high above the ground as possible, not your head. I weigh 240 and I'd guess on average can go 2.5 feet high, from standing... granted, that's me putting all my energy into it lol. A comfortable, leveled out 12" ollie is a thing of beauty and skill though, so even if for some reason that's as high as you ever get your flat ground ollie, that's more than enough to do any flat ground trick your heart desires.
@JesseeJames-uv8fi
@JesseeJames-uv8fi 2 месяца назад
@@TheRealWarez yea I’ve done that too and had my friend also pause their hand at the highest point of where my feet were and that’s about all I got lol. But if that’s decent then sweet. My buddy says tells me that’s not high then proceeds to Ollie 2-2.5 feet and I get irritated.

Shits lame. Keep the competition to the toxic sports. We should all enjoy Ollie's together and if someone is higher. Good for them. If they _need_ to be higher than me. They could use some deep shadow work with a qualified professional or their ambitious single mother can kick rocks

@@SKATEiQi know its a goof. While I got your attention do a video about effortless airs over hips. People can get trippy for sure and there is plenty of collateral damage from unapologetic oblivious actions. Especially, after tons of trauma and abuse. We all didn't get skate camps and coaches. So, back off!
