Most of you guys leaving bad comments are probably not professional cosmetologists. going blonde from dark hair and making sure to keep the hair healthy is a process, it is not done in one session. She is a talented hairstylist and was nothing wrong in her technique. Plus just because you don't like the tone of her hair being orange doesnt mean thats not what someone else wanted. if that was the case it's a simple step of toning the hair to neutralize the color which means the color would appear darker at a level 6 brown and if her goal was to be more blonde then she would come back in later for the second session around after 6 weeks with treatments in between then to ensure her hairs integrity. You need to TRUST in the process.
Cassy Ramirez even im not professional i just know the color not even, thats not ombre her technique is ok but the result was omg not gonna in my hair...
I never leave comments but after reading a lot of negative comments I felt like I had to give my own opinion. I personally loved it. She explain everything in detail and what she did and how she did. At the end results are different than what we are used to seeing but I loved it because it was the most REALISTIC result I have seen in a while .Black hair dye is extremely hard to get rid of and it’s hard for people that don’t do hair to understand. All those videos that we see are normally done on blondes and are easier to work with. When done on really dark hair I’m sure it takes everyone so many hours to edit it and all day in the salon just to achieve that blondness. I don’t think it was necessary for everyone to react so negatively about it. I don’t about anyone but I choose honesty over a sugar coated lie. Thanks Salon Guy for having her you guys did great !
i wouldnt say yes to do a hair technique in a dyed hair. we all know it will turn out bad, these comments are not negative, they are realistic. We all know the hair will turn out orange if its previously dyed with dark hair dye.
Yes very true. I have naturally dark hair, but I also dye my hair black. So when I went in to my local salon for ombre hair, it did turn out brassy. It takes different sessions at the salon for the "correct blonde". I agree with you.
Monica Zamudio yes, I agree. But I don't think that she also wasn't intending on it looking like that ether. Even professionals can make mistake. I think it would look so much better curly then straight. Then I could see how it would look blended.
Magali Dorosuc But they are very negative. If people said things like “I didn’t like it,but good job for doing this” it wouldn’t be negative, but instead they say things like “it’s too orange” or “it’s so patchy.” Please don’t come after me all I want to do is spread my opinion not to hate on you.
Any hairstylist knows that it is difficult to lift from black to blonde. Hair looks fantastic and the reality of it is very real In a stylist world. Well done . Love it!!
Julieann Legge i am a hairstylist her hair is not black it’s dark brown . And no it’s not hard to lift our hair . You just need to know how to do it and how to tone.
Bullshit, it’s not difficult at ALLLL! It may take more time, but it isn’t difficult, ESPECIALLY with correct care. This was NOT correct hair care. The result is pitiful
This is realistic colour results going from dark to light.. I’m glad this video is up and showing the colour stage a massive stage u have to go through before being blonde
I’m a professional hairstylist and when you have a client that has had box color or has done a dark color at all it’s best to use foils because it conducts more heat. I would’ve teased the sections and saturated the ends to get a more even result. Toning also helps.. Diagonal sections would have been better because if you do horizontal section it make it more difficult to avoid harsh lines.
I’m a professional barber and foils take to long to hair that long I think she did a great job and foils also conduct more heat making one side process faster than one side so you have to wash out each section separately
just have a few questions: the ends of her hair were actually pretty light, and past orange perhaps a level 8? which she could have then neutralized to an ashy dark blonde color. why did she say that she would tone it to a cooler color, and then instead apply a seemingly orange dye? not only did it darken it, it just added more red tones to the point where it looked like it just wasn’t bleached enough. why is everyone saying in the comments that dark hair is harder to lift (which it definitely is) but when the real issue is that it was light enough but still wasn’t toned to a cool color?
I am a licensed cosmologist. The application looked good but the end result could have been better. I'm shocked that you've been a stylist for 20 yrs and you loved the very brassy and unblended color. You're a sweet lady but this could have been so much better. 💗😊
FYI, cosmology is the study of the creation of the universe. Carl Sagan was a cosmologist. I think you mean you’re a “cosmetologist”. Air quotes intended
I mean with multiple treatments it won’t look so orange but other then that! You gotta keep that hair healthy! Also she went into great detail and spoke much more clearly then my Cosmo teacher ever did ! Thank you!
I have black hair and I have asked my mother to get blonde ends but I am not sure if it would look good so I searched it up and found this!Tysm!(btw my mother said yes!!!)
The color is amazing, and so is the hair, I don't understand why everyone hates it so much. I don't think it looks good to this girl, but it's beautiful
Whenever I bleech my hair like that it gets very patchy and orange like this one, BUT I always apply a VERY LIGHT BROWN haircolour on it after bleeching, and it helps to get rid of the orange colour! Not hating at all, but maybe she should also add light brown colour on the bleeching hair :)
Okay I really do love the techniques she used .... Maybe not a very blond colour she got but it REALLY difficult to go from black to blond first time I dyed my hair ombre it turned out to be worse than that since my hair colour is black and I used to dye it with henna it tuned out to be orange and patchy then I used the colour blanc cendré(idk what it is called in english?) To get rid of that orangy shades then after couple of weeks I dyed it again with A very blond colour to get the perfect ombre that I was aiming for .... It surely took me a lot of time and money to get the desired results but I learned a lot from your videos and it was totally worth it ..... Thank you guys for this video
We do not have to look at what hair color is, but we have to see if the blending and gradation of the hair color is natural. Hair color can not be discussed because the result of bleaching depends on whether the model has previously coloured her hair, the thickness of the hair, or whether the melanin pigment in the hair is yellow or red. Her Ombre technique is very professional and amazing. I can not understand why people blame the hair color of her model and her hair dressing techniques.
Guys she's a talented person and don't judge her skills from this video. Look her up on instagram @salonrosam and she does gorgeous work!! Nothing wrong with her technique either.
Y'all are one she did a perfect job and people that do not like it why you even leaving the comic. She did a very nice job and I really love her like if you agree.
I have never commented I agree coming from black or box store bought dye you do lift a lot of orange , reds .. she could have teased to get rid of the harsh lines and defuse the line of demarcation. And tone her with a little green base to give her a more natural "living color" until her next visit .
One thing Ive learned the hard way about this technique is it is not a one day process. I learned some good tips from this video but although she probably used 20 volume I did not hear it stated and of course, depending on desired result we can all figure out the best volume for hair density, previous color or not, level etc... I think it is best to approach this kind of project simply and I like the idea of using a clear film specifically for ombré balayage rather than plastic wrap that is always wanting to bunch up and stick. Light hair balayage has been a cinch for me but dark hair is more challenging for me so Ill take the tips I can get :)
Great job! I'm not a professional, but all ya'll people leaving nasty comments, if that's what the customer was happy with, then why criticize the technique? Question for TheSalonGuy! If you do a bleach ombre, then do one bright color, say something semi-permanent like manic panic, will it naturally show diverse shades as if i used multiple colors? I have unbleached brown hair, but I've considered trying something a bit more funky.
I had really straight hair for years and I never tried to grow it , I've been trying to grow the fronts for at least 3 months now and I don't know if it's because I combed it too much or if it's natural but the ends of my hair started to get wavy ... And I don't want wavy hair for some reason :) What would fix it ? Should I cut it short or something else ? Thanks in advance :)
Love it!! I am so excited to try this. I'm going to put bleach on and go through my hair . After I'm going to put lavender through it. I am so excited ,thank you very much for this video. I found it really informative, I really like the technique.
"You're not a professional you've never even touched hair you don't know this you don't know that!" You're correct. I'm not a professional and I don't know how to do hair. But I do know what looks good and what looks bad to me. And this, as an "end result" looks pretty bad. It's horribly patchy and has random light and dark spots in random places and around the front of her face. It looks bad. And you don't need to tell me that dark hair doesn't lighten to blonde after one treatment. I know that it doesn't lighten completely to blonde for everyone. But I'm almost sure that this is meant to be a final result, and from what I'm seeing, it's awful.
Renasai okay so I’m licensed and being a hairstylist. We try our absolute best to make sure everything looks good and we get what the people want, but depending on the hair type we never know how someone’s hair is gonna take, there’s always always a end result that’ll be just like they want but sometimes it takes time. I thought it was beautiful for going from dark to light
The color after the bleach looks like what you get if you bleach out black box dye. That takes like 3 times B4 looks good I know from experience if you ever wanna be blonde don't use box dye. Also you can't each for hours. Your gonna melt the hair it takes time If you wanna maintain the health of the hair.
I ‘m a colorist, and I would like to ad a comment on this vdo,I think her technique is excellent but it could look much more beautiful by putting toner ,in any color, as she should chooses for the client, just to make the color more even🙏🏽🙏🏽🙏🏽
I am a Professional stylist over twenty years. 1) should have addressed box dyed hair with different formula.2) strange sections and blending for “balayage”. 3) hair looks brassy.4) she has a channel on RU-vid, I don’t! So work it out momma :)
Aaron Jackson well Aaron if u we're a stylist u would understand everyone's hair is different and won't lighten to a blonde like u would expect it to. Research before u attack
IxHarleyQuinzel so we should just pay for bad job do you mean that? In school they teach them every single hair type and how to work with it. How I know it ? Because I’m a student of that and they are really teaching every hair kind
ok so the technique is not to bad hoever you said you are going to cool out the brasy tones but the end colour is very warm and brasy??? but i kinda like it.
I literally can't believe how bad that looks..and I love salonguys videos, he does great cuts and he's fun to watch but this video is not doing anything for his channel.
You can tone it but the transition can't be fixed by toner. Some of it is smooth and has a nice balayage looking thing going on but other parts have harsh transitions and it doesn't look even.
I never do a mean comment but i am saying this with all the love. No, this is not pretty. Sometimes things happen but this video shouldnt be up on chanel. She needs to go back with models natural color and blend straight lines that she created with the bleach and then tone her hair darker cuz its very orange. But even if the model wanted orange that is fine, but blending the lines is a must in every balayage/ombre look cuz now it looks like she didnt blend at all. I have a lot of things happen in salon that are unexpected but you always have to deal with it in a way that end result is good. I think you should delete this video from channel cuz its not the stylist best work and she maybe does great stuff but this makes her look bad. And put another video of her doing this technique with good result.
Caitlyn Bahe your more of a stupid idiot for thinking that toning it would correct the problem. Toning only works when the hair has been lifted to a level 10 and up maybe even a 9. So much of this video is wrong that toning would be the least of the problem
Caitlyn Bahe I'm a cosmetologist, not an English major. If you trying to embarrass me by calling out my auto correct, sorry not today! My poor grammar is irrelevant in this day and age where emoji's and abbreviations (smh) are overused (lol). You must be a cosmetologist as well?. Since you insist on thinking that "toner, and purple shampoo" and for idk what reason you mentioned conditioner? I think it's safe to say that if you are a stylist that your work is not any better. Your argument is stupid! And i can prove it easily! (Look at a freaking color chart!)
Better yet I'll prove my point by mentioning she did tone it! Toner does absolutely nothing on the orange/red Rusty color. Would you mind enlightening this uneducated idiot on why that is? You shouldn't throw stones, when you live in a glass house. Ms. I don't know how to punctuate, the end of a sentence.
How old are you? Probably no older than 12 is my guess. Your responses really making me think I'm debating a child, no way you a grown women. I'm going to answer my own question. We can only guess why it is orange, since we where not there for the consultation. The most important part before a color service. A client must be completely honest, (a skilled stylist can tell when someone is lying) about any chemical services, done elsewhere or at home. A vivid picture of what the client would like the final results to be. That will be the base to establish realistic results. At no time in the video did she state that this video is the first of a series of sessions. Even if she had disclosed that information, that still don't explain the color placement! I had to pause the video to be able to get a look at the back, It didn't flow at all. You need to go back and delete your comments, there is no way that many people are wrong, especially when so many other professionals are all saying the same thing.
I’m not a professional BUT i do dye my hair black with box dye alllll the time and this outcome yes it’s brassy orange but obviously she’s going to need to bleach it again eventually to get the shade she wants (black hair is a process) she’s not going to be blonde the first time… so this was pretty good.
first of all Ombre means "shadow" in french so by way of that how I was taught to ombre on a head of hair is to assess the overall colour because the top being the darkest of your chosen colour going to lighter at the bottom, it's nice to stick to the same tonal family as well. So for the lady's top she could have stuck to her natural and just for the same of arguments put a clear with a half of her natural shade then, middle section done a shade two- three shades darker since she had prior colour that middle section needed to have been pre-lightened so that needed to have been done first and then the third bottom section the lightest colour which can be a lightener and in this case it would have had to have been then any toning done afterwards to the desired colour effect, its okay have warm tones because naturally that is what is underneath the lady hair.
I am glad I fast forward this video bc I would have been pissed wasting 15 minutes and being disappointed. Not good work I am sorry to say. She acted like she knew what she was doing but it came out very brassy , blotchy and unnatural . I am a hairdresser and ombré isn’t my forte but I can do it way better than this . I would never have uploaded this video ... as a professional I know when I do a bad job and she should have known it too and avoid all the negative but truthful comments 😬😬😔
Caitlyn Bahe She literally said that she’s a professional hairdresser, so I bet she has a lot more experience than you. Did you even read her comment or did you just impulsively comment about toning like you did to all of the other negative comments?
Hey Stephen, great video. I was wondering if you could tell me which product of yours has the most hold and if there is one that has a similar hold to Claymation. thanks a lot...
She said her "hair fall" is slightly above her eyebrow on the right side. I don't really get this wording or what she means. Can someone explain? Pretty confused.
I CANT EVEN!! AS A NON PROFESSIONAL, AFTER WATCHING I EVEN THOUGHT THAT DID NOT LOOK RIGHT. YOU COULD CLEARLY SEE SHE WAS TRYING TO COVER UP THE PARTS THAT WERE UGLY LOL. I EVEN NOTICED AT THE END SHE TWIRLED THE HAIR WHERE YOU COULD NOT SEE IT. IT LOOKS NOTHING LIKE THE SUN DID IT LOL
When i did ombre at home, i split my hair into 2 sections, and when i rinsed the bleach of one side was slightly lighter than the other...any help??? Also, would having more sections help this problem?
Sometimes u need to hv the guts to say : paranormal hairactivity! And try again after a couple of treatment... As a dark haired myself messing whit my hair all these years, i dont need to be a professional to say this 1th : Dark hair almost always pulls into reds...very hard to neutralize 2nd: Pre colored dark hair gonna give uneaven and patchy results and breakage if u try to go further.
My hair is badly messed up I have 2 cows licks at the front and I don't suit it when I stick my hair up so I flat it and there is a curl in the front of my hair and its ugly and horrible have u got any tips but my hair is really thick like a sheep

Bob Pancakes I had wrote a huge paragraph in response and for some reason my internet cut out and it wouldnt let me post. I had to reboot my laptop. Instead of retyping, let me know if you still need some help.
