its finals tomorrow and im watching tutorials on how to open/eat a coconut i dont even have a coconut :/

I have no coconuts, dont live in an area with coconuts, and I dont even like coconut. But I'm here watching a 7 year old video on how to open and harvest a coconut. And I love it, ive never seen it done before.

Over 7000$ in medical bills for reconstructive surgery later, I finally came back and watched the whole video and saw the part where you DID NOT recommend using the cleaver. I was following along the first time, and before I got to that part I had a cleaver in my face.

Just eat from the inside and out with a spoon. Doesn't need that much power.

no... get a screw driver and tap 2 of the holes with a hammer 1 for drinking and 1 for the air to get out. so just drink it out of the coconut

next time make 2 holes so from one the air can go in and does not make vacum there... easy physics

There's a way easier method that my people have used for many generations. I'm a Polynesian there an easier way where you don't even need to freeze the coconut, also my people can open it with just a piece of rock with one blow to it but this tutorial is good for those that are new to eating coconuts

Nice. It works. I used a 4lb. blacksmith’s forging hammer. I’ll hit it easier next time. Coconuts are no match for the cross peen of a four pound hammer. I’ll try a two pounder next time. Probably make less shrapnel.

It takes me about 20 to demeat a coconut using a knife. I got The Coconut Tool (available all over the place) and now it takes less than 5 minutes. MUCH easier.

I remember, when I was a kid. And, my mom had a coconut tree in her back yard. I use to get the coconut and, crack it on a big rock. Then I cover it with a blanket and then pour it into a cup: yummy

GUYS GUYS THE RIGHT WAY TO OPEN IT is by grabbing a hammer and then bashing one of the lines, but when your holding the coconut your palm shouldnt be touching it because it can get stuck in the coconut and possibly rip some skin off

I just ate a coconut. We don't have a cleaver (luckely) .I went to my workshop, i put it on my work bench. With an angle grinder i sawed the top off. I drank the water inside. Then with a fine metal saw i sawed it in four pieces, and i could easely remove the hard outside, also with a dull knife . It took maybe 20 seconds not minutes....like in the video. (and it has'nt even been in the freezer) But then it still has a hard thin brown layer on it. The video does'nt show what to do with that. But okay. I just ate the white flesh and threw the brown stuff away. So, it's very easy when you have a workshop, a workbench, an angle grinder, a metal saw and a dull knife. If you don't have that just go to the supermarket and buy coconut (milk) in a tin can. If you also like chocolate buy a Bounty chocolate bar. Much easier.

A bit of a tip to anyone coming by this video the color of the coconut also matters if it's green the liquid should be very tasty but it's going to have basically no meat at all. If it's brown then it should have a lot of meat but less liquid.

I’ve just smashed a coconut in trough the side with a hammer and drank it all(it was a little bitter) and the bits I smashed in I ate the white part of, it was really hard and didn’t have much flavor. Did I go it right?

Dont need a knife for the juice part, I did it with a pen (took the ink part out) just taped it in with a bottle, opened up the hole and then i poped a straw in and then ..........drank the blood of the coconut so that i could gain its power!

Really?! Coconut Juice and Coconut meat!! I didn’t know those things existed. I just knew about coconut milk and fresh coconut
