How to open Sentry Safe 3 number dial combination lock 

My father recently passed away, I have the combination to his safe but was unable to open it. Your video was excellent, I opened it up with no problem. All the paperwork the family needed was inside. THANKYOU, YOUR AWESOME!

Wow! I never knew how easy it was to open a safe WITH the combination.

You are a life saver. Couldn't open up the safe. I forgot that I had to turn the knob three times past zero and then to the first number. Once I saw your video, i was able to open it up. I was unsure about my number as i had it listed in two places but I threw away the first one and wasnt sure the second was was correct as I couldn't open it. I was going to call Sentry and pay them to send me the correct combo which would have been a waste of time as I had correct combo all the time. It was just how I turned the knob

This was a huge help! We were given an old safe and the combination but just didn't know how to dial it. A little different than a high school locker! :-)

Your method here was the reverse of what I had attempted. You are indicating a left,right,left manipulation. (I tried the right,left,right turning...much like a high school locker). I will try it your way. Thank you

IF THESE INSTRUCTIONS DID NOT WORK FOR YOU, READ THIS: I have a 3 number dial combination lock Sentry safe, but the correct way to open mine is exactly opposite of the one shown here. For the SFW082DTB you actually first go CLOCKWISE three times past zero, then counterclockwise past the second number once (stopping the second time you come to the second number), then clockwise again until you get to the third number (don't go past the third number). Push the handle down and the safe should open. ALSO, this safe's cylinder does not pop out when you turn the key. There are only two positions: LOCKED is north and unlocked is a quarter turn to the east. You do not have to use the key, though Sentry says it's more secure to use the combo and the key together.

what happens if you lost the main keys? can you use the combo to open it? thanks

just bought a sfw123dub. the dial clicks loudly. sentry said it should. any way to quiet it down? I took the dial out and used some grease and it didn't help. Under the door cover ,inside, there is a clear cap with white powder in it. Is that just dried grease?

we just purchased (from a estate sale) a sentry safe like the one in the video. i have the combination , the lock is already popped out. when the combination is done and the handle is turned down the door does not open. Any suggestions as to what we should do now? Thank you for your help

if you don't have the combo, this safe can be pried in to pretty easily by pulling the wall away from the latch. You can hammer a crow bar into the seam then gradually separate them. The safe will obviously be ruined afterwards.

We have a safe that was handed down, along with what are the 3 numbers for the combination, but we have no key for the safe. Any idea where we may be able to purchase a key for our safe? If it may matter, the info on the little sticker, the first part says S3421. At least it looks like an S and not an 8. I am assuming this is a model type for the safe. The info on the safe states 'Halo Branded Solutions' on one part that looks like an emblem, and another area on a stripe below the handle and dial combination that states 'Sentry'.

I am unable to open my safe for a couple of months now. I just moved into a new place, we moved the safe loaded into a truck side way, do you think this could cause the issue ?

I have the same sentry safe in the video. I lost my key. My question is there any way to open it with out a key? If i call sentry will they HELP? The safe is empty and I don't want to ruin it or throw it away I would like to be able to use it.

You can buy an Impressioning kit online everywhere that will open most cylinder locks like that just as fast as having the key. Also 2 good wacks on the hing with a good hammer will grant you access. Those safes suck ass.

Great teacher easy and strong strategy, but this safe is a headache. If you moved them around the house. They just luck themselves forever, until one has to call the company, send a fax, and pay $35.+ the cost of the fax if don't have fax @ home. Yes, they no longer charge $20. $25. folks. . The last time I used them was in 2018. It cost $35. God knows what it might be these days...
