Thank god you helped my whole night here. I'm sitting here a giant of a Viking man (6,1-235 pounds) with big clumsy fingers helping my wife with this sewing machine she just bought. We looked through the whole internet and found this amazing guide. The lower thread wheel didn't work and you showed it real good. You also showed where to place the threads while sewing and we nailed it. Im not really into this stuff but got real stubborn and watched your video step by step. Amazing help. Now my wife is happy:) Me also.

@@mariejones5570 what do you mean? Is the bobbin thread not coming up? Check if you loaded the bobbin the right direction. If you still have the instruction book, I believe it has a section on trouble shooting but I could be wrong

Just bought this for my daughter (nine years old) and was dreading teaching her how to use it. I am a first timer also and this video was so helpful that is got us sewing straight stiches right away. Your explanation of the process was great and she was able to do it all by herself. We would love some more videos using the machine on basic projects like a pillow case or some curtains.

Nice video! For sewing beginners: Raise the presser foot before threading your machine. This opens the tension disks so they can grip the thread. When the presser foot is down the tension disks are "closed" and you won't be able to thread them with your thread. I have had this machine for a couple of weeks now. I love it. Although it does not have a lot of space under the presser foot the machine handles multiple layers quite well. I've used this machine to make a quilted bag and several masks. My next project is cloth slippers with a beavy weight Sunbrella fabric for the sole and upper. We shall see how that goes! Any way I use this machine on my sailboat with a 12 volt electrical system. To do that I bought a 6 volt power cord with a 3.5 mm male plug on one end and a standard USB on the other and plug it into the 12 volt system with a car charger type USB plug. It works great! No need to use batteries or 110 electrical power. Perfect for boats, cars and R.Vs without using an inverter.

Just used it for the first time and the needle came un-threaded. The instructions were not that great for this complete beginner with very bad eyesight!! However I searched on here and found your simple, but brilliant tutorial so thank you so much!! I will definitely be back for more tips. My machine was bought in England from Aldi Supermarkets.

just a tip for anyone having tension issues after following this tutorial like me - try inserting the bottom bobbin in a "q" position. i know in this video she says to put it in a "p" position, but i couldn't get the tension to hold on my sewing machine no matter how much i increased the top tension doing it that way. then, in another tutorial, i saw that they put the bobbin in a "q" position and it works perfectly for me now!

I just bought this machine for my Granddaughter.. complained to the company as it works on "off" and works without foot pedal.. complained it was dangerous.. But after watching this video you have explained it better than instructions .. well done .. you should be paid from the company for showing people this video... I am awaiting still for a reply from the company.. I have been sewing industrial machines and never came across a machine that works when the "off" button is "Off "or works without using the pedal..

Thank you so much. I have sewn before albeit many years ago and my hubby bought me this for Christmas. It kept knotting and sticking and he had it in bits trying to fix it. One short sentence from you and its fixed. DONT USE THEIR THREAD.Best bit of advice ive had for a while.I actually have 3 machines as he so wanted me to have one that worked for doing repairs. The very best vid on this machine - wonderfully and clearly done. Bravo. One demo showed the person trying to use the electic with the batteries in - it will not work that way. You need to remove the batteries if you want to plug in in to DC. It must be a safety feature. She never did get it to sew. It's clear you practiced and competent in your use of the little one. I have one in my collection of machines and this one even releases the presser foot and you can use your universal feet from Janomes. Pretty amazing even tho it is pretty slow. The other amazing thing is that it has the option of a hand switch or foot pedal (again not both at once. good job on your video.

I have had the same sewing machine for nearly 3 years and still cannot thread the needle, I didn't get a needle threader with mine so I went on to Amazon and ordered one with a light, I must admit your tutorial is the best one I have watched because it's the same machine, I will watch it again and again just so I have it right, as you can probably guess I have never had a sewing machine or used a sewing machine EVER, not even in school. The timing wheel is off. You will need to make it accurately in sync with the needle.

Have you tried a different quality of thread? When I used the thread that came with the machine I had various issues, and so did my daughter. Also check the tension dial. What number is the tension dial currently on? Mine is usually on a 4 for the cotton fabrics I use.

Wow you are a good teacher. I recently bought this and I really like it. I have zero knowledge of sewing on a machine. I will say I need to practice sewing straight lines so I have been using the thread that came with it. It has worked for me. Thank you so much for your video. I need all the help I can get. Lol

I tried what you did, when you changed stitches, but my thread keeps running out. I don’t know why. It would stitch for like an inch and then nothing. I don’t know what I’m doing wrong. 😢😢😢

this machine is good to teach a small child how to sew..then when they are older you can switch to a full size

Thank-you Domenica. I'm considering one of these little machines- I have a grand-daughter who has just discovered 'Barbie' dolls and I am about to start work on a mini designer wardrobe for her! I have a full size machine but this looks so compact and easy to use and perfect for doll's clothes! 😊

@@rosieandbriansteepleton1062 It's quite loud compared to a regular sewing machine. I have to put mine on low or it would be way too fast for me. Mine goes about as fast as the demo she does. But again you don't have the control like you would on a regular machine being able to go as slow as you want. For paper it's great but I couldn't imagine actually sewing a piece of clothing with it. Hope that helps!

First off your presentation and demo were clear and concise unlike another before you which the presenter obviously had no clue how to thread the machine and when consulting the manual still did not catch her mistake. The machine would not run because of it and she blamed the machine, lol!! Now I have a regular machine but think this could be a nice little addition in my craft room for say when sewing with two different colors of thread on a project so as not to have to change out then back again. I was actually very surprised at the features this little machine had. Thanks for this great tutorial and I may just purchase one!

Thank you for this helpful video! I just bought this little machine to sew while traveling. It’s so light weight compared to my standard Singer, that’ll just have to stay at home. This machine is a great gadget for sewing-on-demand like dance costumes at competitions.

This tutorial is more about issues with different styles of sewing machines, than teaching you how to sew . I was looking for a detailed how-to series, like Lesson 1 : Threading and operating your machine, on up to Lesson 5 : sewing buttonholes , etc .

Thank you so much for this video. I have now successfully threaded and sewn some test stitches. The manual that came with mine was about as much use as a chocolate teapot! I will now be able to start making clothes alterations without having to spend hours hand sewing everything. 🩷🩷🩷
