I just ordered the seal pick, it's almost the same, just not as bent. I also ordered a pair of pliers, USA made, but probably Williams. Still for around $20 not bad. The parts guy at CAT made things more difficult than it should have been. I'm going to try and have something shipped next.
Not all tge tools are snap on 80%of tge sockets are jet tools and tekton onky like 8 sets are snap on so just be carefully what you see in tge picture is what you get ... only 15% of the tools are snap on made, so just pay attention when ordering
Your dealer was talking about the service side of the cat dealer not the parts side. My dealer has 3 cat dealers he services he sells the the techs snap on tools. Dealer then warranties out the snap on tools sold to the techs at the dealership.
I bought the metric 3/8 6 point set they are Snap on made I just used checkout as a guest had no problems store is only 5 minutes away they sent email said ready for pickup
I made an account but have to get verified through my local dealer. Is that something anyone else has gone through? Like I can access my account but cannot order.
I saw on a RU-vid short that the hex sockets from cat and snappy are identical in appearance, so its likely they are also the same but i make no guarantee on this.
Depending on your dealer it can be a pain to get your online account setup. Mine (part of a multi city dealership) had a gate keeper who kept refusing to approve my account because I didn't have a serial number for a CAT machine. I went to the local parts counter and made my 1st order and they told me who to talk to go over his head to get it approved.
Thoughts on metallurgy? Franchisee issues too. I do not deal with my local so guy. Major loser. I have dealt with so since 87. He is a pox on their rep.
You've been saying that you were going to make this video for the last 2 months or so. I gave up waiting for you to do it and figured it out myself lol. It's definitely a little tricky to make an account and navigate the website to find and purchase the tools, but about 30 minutes later and voila!! It was done!! Got 2 sets of 3/8" 8mm-19mm shallow sockets in 6 and 12 point and a set of flank drive plus wrenches. All for about $400 before tax. I had to go pick it up from a local CAT dealer, but it was only about 10 minutes away.
