Choosing the correct size and length
Flat link training collars are the most effective and most humane collars to use in training and showmanship if sized and used correctly. The chain should never be pulled tight like a choke chain. The metal links are ground flat during the manufacturing process to send sounds and vibrations to the dog that a command is coming.
