PS--If you would like to see this all written down, I forgot to mention I do have an article on my blog about organizing your own show: mothandrustdiy.com/how-to-organize-your-own-craft-show-finding-vendors-diy-advertising-and-tips-for-a-smooth-running-show/
Please do a day of video when you get the chance! I have been looking for a youtuber who organizes craft shows themselves, so excited to find you! Deffinetly need all the info you can give me :)
Thank you so much for taking the time to leave such a sweet comment!! Oh my goodness, I’ve been slacking on a lot of things, but I do need to get back to posting more videos and will put this topic as a top priority.... thank you for helping to motivate me! 😆💕
Oof, I *did* have one, but it may have accidentally got lost with my blog move (I got rid of my old website and have a new one now.) :( I need to look for that. I know that doesn't help you right now, but I will get on that and try to update as soon as I can!! Thank you so much for your comment!
Thank you so much for the information! Because of your tips I was able to help our library's nonprofit group host a show in December and am planning for another show in May :) this has also inspired me to consider hosting a show just for fun, maybe sometime this fall. I'll have to look into some details. Thanks again tho, you rock!!
Oooh my goodness! This makes me so happy…I’m so glad you’re having fun doing shows and am so glad I could be helpful!! Thank you so much for sharing this…..YOU rock and have totally made my day! 💖
I’m interested in hosting craft and antique events. This was a great video. I think the biggest challenge is knowing how much I can spend on an event space. What are some free or low cost options or do they all cost quite a bit?
Thank you so much for watching and for the kind compliment! As far as cost, it really just depends on your area, your relationships, etc...I have been able to my church's gym for free/donation, so if you are part of an organization that has space, you may find something like that is a possibility. Or, I have used a local rec center event space for a reasonable price. (I think it was about $375 for 5 hours). But again, it really just depends. Ask around, do lots of research, and maybe even see what kind of deals they might be able to make with you. I hope this is somewhat helpful!
Aside from keeping an eye out/being familiar with places in your area, or just googling venues, I'm afraid I don't have any special tips! As for price, that is also pretty subjective. Obviously you have to stay within your budget. I've used venues for free or donation (e.g., my church), but have also rented for $75 per hour...which I think is reasonable, but it also depends on your area. I'm sorry I can't be more helpful with this! Thank you for your question and for watching!
Hi. Im putting together my first craft show. Its going to be on 4/24/21. I am looking for as much information as possible. I have my location already. What I ned help with is vendor contracts or applications. I know I shouldn't have multiple vendors that sell the same products or would be ok if I do? I would appreciate a video about "the day of"..Thank You!
Hello Irene, thank you so much for reaching out! I am sorry that I don't have a "day of" video ready...I had no idea when I released this video we were about to have to deal with Covid so after that craft shows weren't on my mind! :( As far has having multiple vendors selling the same thing, I wouldn't worry too much. For example, jewelry is a popular category so there isn't much getting around having a handful of jewelry vendors...so I would usually choose artists who create different styles. Or, even if they make the same style, no artist is going to make the exact same piece, so it's usually no problem! Generally speaking, I would space out artists with the same type of product...so I wouldn't put two knitters right beside each other, etc. I hope this is helpful! Please do let me know if you have any other questions!
I think this is up to you! If it is the same "series" of shows, I think one should work fine, as long as all dates are included. I hope this is helpful and thank you for your question!
Thank you so much for the question! I don't know if there are any apps specifically for creating applications, but you can should be able to use any common word processing app like word or pages. Once I create the application, I export it as a pdf file before posting to my site. I hope this is helpful!
Thanks so much for your question, Manny! I can't speak for everyone, but the small amount of money I made came from the vendors' booth fees. You could also charge an admission fee, but personally I prefer to keep the show accessible to everyone. It would really be up to you, though. My main objective in holding craft shows was to highlight local crafters and help spread and appreciation for handmade!
Hi there…we are hosting a craft show next month with the proceeds to help our local homeless shelter. For ways to earn extra money for the event we are having a concession stand along with a Chinese raffle of one thing that each of our vendors donated for it. We also asked local businesses for donations as well. Haven’t had the show yet but those were our ideas on how to earn extra money for our cause…😊
