like honestly, ideas just come around at the most random and odd places (at least for me), and in those instances it's mostly before going to bed or at the damn toilet! it's great that i've made it a habit to snatch up my phone and type it down on my notes before it even disappears.

I used to be a complete pantser, but I find myself becoming more and more of a plotter. I want to actually physically lay out my plot on the door or wall or a board or something next time.

I LOVE this!!!!! I seriously love the idea of placing it out physically-- i've always kinda done this. Back when I was running D&D campaigns I used to have a wall of stickey notes of ideas. More recently for a book i have in mind, I taped up index cards. THIS IS SO MUCH MORE ORGANIZED!!!

How do you deal when there is a concept, elements, vibes, multiple settings and starting scenes, and some rough characters as for archetypes, but the characters don't seem to work together or with the story? It's a mystery (not the murder one). I can't imagine meaningful events for the start that I won't regret later, nor meaninful dialogue even considering show-not-tell.

i'm not published yet, but i hope to be in the next year or so. i wrote a 90k thriller manuscript last summer, and i'm currently 50k into drafting a contemporary romance! :)
