How to put on cork wallpaper with an overlap and double cut seam.
Our 'Hit the North' real cork super wide wallpaper uses a traditional technique to create an invisible join when installing. This short video shows you how to successfully make an overlap and double cut join on this wallpaper. This method can also be used for murals and vinyl contract wall coverings.
You can buy the wallpaper here, with International delivery options:

Here's some step by step instructions for hanging our real cork wallpaper:
1. Decide where your join is going to be looking at the layout of the pattern and the wastage across the wall.
2. Draw a plumb line on the wall - use a spirit level or just a piece of string with a weight to draw a vertical (don’t use your walls for guidance as they might not be straight).
3. Paste the first section of wall with ready mixed wallpaper paste.
4. Get the first roll of paper out and line the edge up with your plumb line, sticking it to the wall. You’ll probably need one person up a ladder holding the weight, and the other person trying to line it up.
5. Smooth the paper down once it’s on. Don’t worry if you have to peel it off and move it a bit, it’s very strong and won’t rip.
6. DON’T trim the paper yet.
7. Hold up your second piece of paper and see where the pattern matches. You might want to cut some of the excess off to make it easier to handle (but don’t cut too much off!).
8. Paste your second bit of wall.
9. Stick the second piece of paper roughly up and try and line up the seams. This is the tricky bit. You’ll have to lift the seams and check it lines up all the way up the join. Take your time and remember it’s fine to completely peel the wallpaper off and start again if you’re not happy.
10. Cut through the paper as shown in the video to create the perfect seam.
11. Now you can trim the edges and around any sockets using a very sharp knife and scissors.
12. Go round and add more paste to anywhere that might have dried out - try not to get it on the front side of the cork but make sure there’s plenty on the back. Smooth it down with a clean cloth.
13. You’re done!

Shame the manufacturer can’t make it a butt join in the factory. Instead of leaving it for the applicator. It would make a whole lot more sense surly

This way does give a better end result for a completely seamless finish, plus it means the edges of the paper are protected in transit. I'm not a professionally trained decorator, just a moderately experienced amateur but I found it quite straight forward once I'd got my head round it!
