I had this video in mind for a while now, but I wasn't sure how to go about making it. I made another one first, but I just wasn't feeling it. So I went with a silly approach. It's not too bad, could be better. Either way I like it.
If you have any packing tips to leave for others that I didn't cover, feel free to leave them in the comments below. If you came here for ACTUAL tips on packing for a convention, here's what I have to offer:
• Do a run-through of your cosplays before packing them to make sure they won't break under con use
• Pack everything you don't need first, and save things you need until last/the day of (i.e. pack your costumes but not your hygiene bag)
• Make sure your contact case is sealed TIGHT! Once mine weren't sealed tightly and the solution went into my bag and I had to re-soak the contacts before I could use them again
• Use suit bags to pack your cosplays. It keeps everything you need together in one convenient location and makes for easy packing up afterwards
• MAKE A LIST. I don't know how much I can stress this. Lists are the most important things you need when packing. It may be tedious, but please make one
• Keep breakable props and items separate from your luggage in a box or container, and wrapped in bubble wrap. This will ensure a safe voyage to and from the con
• Pack as light as possible, you're going to be bringing back lots of goodies and you need room for your merchandise
• Don't wait until last minute to pack! I started packing for Anime North about 3 days ago and I'm still remembering things that I should have packed that weren't on the list. It pays to be prepared
