Loved that you brought up asking about food allergies if reusing kitchen cardboard. My son is allergic to eggs. So we have to keep all egg and egg product away from him.
Omg i saw the title of this video and THANK YOU HARLI!! I’ve literally been wanting to ship plants for a year now but i had no idea how to do it the right way
Hey Harli, thanks again for starting your fb group , & for mentioning it . A thing I wish people who ship in soil would do is NOT water a few days before shipping, especially super dense non chunky (crap) soil. I have gotten too many plants with root rot and /or stem rot because the plants were watered before shipping. And to those that use plastic, or that weird styrofoam plastic hybrid wrap, STOP IT please.
I just watched your first packaging video. I like both versions. The first one let’s me know I can start with anything and make improvements along the way
This is so good! Thank you! I’m going to practice shipping a plant (literally to someone the next town over) and use this method! Just seems so fool proof and simple to apply. Thanks for the inspo and boost of shipping confidence!
Thank you very much. Gave the facts in very detail. Harli, how prepare the cuttings, their standards in lengthwise? Actually, I m interested to know if I m a beginner. Byeeee..
Thank you so much for this, I have a snake plant that was a division from my original plant I want to give to my sister, now I feel comfortable shipping it rather than buying one on line and shipping it!
I was super impressed when I got my order from "The Foliage Fix" 🎁 packed to perfection! My kiddos even got to help pull plants out and almost everything got to be added to the browns for compost
giiiiirl I am moving to another state so I just watched your older vid on this yesterday and then you put this out today. think we are on the same wavelength lol
WELL IF THIS ISNT PERFECT TIMING! I have a new plant friend that I'm going to be trading plants with soon, and I was about to write out directions. But why do that when you have a fantastic video already? Thank you so so much Harli, for all of your hard work and fantastic content as always! 💚
I will be moving soon, do you have a video on how to pack up plants safely? I have very large tall plants that I'm scared I'm going to break the stems etc. what type of box should I use, I'm thinking maybe a wardrobe box? Are there any specific plant boxes for moving? Love your video
Greetings, I just wanted to pass along that Brags Apple cider vinegar Has markedly helped my skin condition. Also, I’ve been using a turmeric enhanced soap.
I got my monstera albo CUTTING in mail today and he had it wrapped and tapped to the bottom of box with no extra paper bunched up to keep it from banging around in the box. I I thought that was genius! No extra money for paper to fill empty space
I sell a lot of cuttings on mercari and always wrap the roots/aerial roots in sphag, wrap that in a wet paper towel and secure it with press n seal then use polyfill in the box for cushion. Press n seal is such a necessity for me for shipping. One roll lasts forever, too! I’d use more newspaper instead of polyfill but the sound of cardboard/newspaper literally makes me gag and gives me chills. It’s so weird and my family thinks im crazy. Lol
Ahhh haha im the same, just seen this video and was reading your comment and had to comment. Im the same, the sound of cardboard and newspaper makes me cringe and gag lol.
Plain white posterboard works well as an alternative to the X-board and you can buy it at almost any store. I also use polyfill around the leaves and wrap in tissue paper several times to ship cuttings not in a cup and it's worked very well.
I’m trying to start an Etsy shop, but it won’t let me add my 100% correct banking information for the initial set up, so I can’t actually get it up and running yet. I have all my supplies on the way, but it won’t be happening unless Etsy can figure out the issue :/ I’m not sure if Shopify would be better, or some other platform, but I’m not tech savvy at all so it’s a struggle for sure 😔 **edited for spelling**
Truthfully I’ve had not great experiences with Etsy! I use Shopify now & have been much happier with my experience. Although, I do think Etsy is great for someone just starting out that needs help getting traffic to their shop
I forked out on a variegated adansonii. It came wrapped in wet kitchen roll, not just the roots, the WHOLE plant! Foliage and all. The wet kitchen roll was then put in a plastic bag and sealed. That was then placed in DIRTY tupperware. Needless to say, it arrived completely rotten, and the seller refused to admit there was anything wrong with the way they had packaged it 🙃
I have been watching your channel since the beginning and I would love to buy a plant from you. How do I do that…email, plant store name???? Thanks for all you do!!
How rude would this be to forward this to eBay seller? I've had some messes show up. But some cuttings look like they have just been left on the side while the listing counted down. Great vid
