Here's a quick tutorial on how to paint a dot mandala on a hexagon wood jewelry box. We used sunshine colors in ochres, yellows and oranges. It's a happy little project and I hope you like it : )

If you mix Plaster of Paris (inexpensive) with any color paint, it will make it a beautiful chalk paint. Love your design and colors. Just beautiful!

That was great. I loved the closeups. And I feel the same way about brushes, they intimidate me. Also, what you said about anxiety is SO right on - dotting really pulled me out of a depressive/anxious state and it just makes me really happy. Beautiful video. Of course love all of your videos. I agree that dotting helps with anxiety. I have tried just about everything as well. I do take ashwagandha in the morning that helps. But when I am in my “bead shop” and am dotting, time will escape me. Thank you so much for sharing your wonderful talents with us. 🙂

Hi Carla. I’ve never tried ashwagandha but I’ll definitely look into it! Thank you. I drink all the Kava tea I can stand, exercise every other day, yoga, meditation, deep breathing. I tried tapping the other day and it seemed silly. I don’t have the proper tapping guru in my life, lol. I’m trying Nicorette now for anxiety but it doesn’t really work. I don’t smoke, but it’s supposed to calm the nerves. Dotting is the best thing for me I’ve found. I’m so grateful for the times I can paint. I’m happy to share. 😊 If you’re into it, here’s a really awesome book on anxiety: First, We Make the Beast Beautiful: A New Journey Through Anxiety by Sarah Wilson.

Hi Rachel I’ve not heard of Kava tea before. It sounds interesting and I will try. I bet the book is awesome and will consider reading it as well. The tapping thing, hmmm I’ve seen that done before and it actually annoyed me. 🙂 so no tapping for me either. I didn’t dot yesterday and woke up at 5 this am ready to dot!! I feel the same way you do about brushes, but I keep trying, because I follow Miranda Pitrone and that's all she uses. She struggles with dotting tools! She started out with brushes. So, it's all about what you're used to. I'm getting the hang of brushes and you, (and I), will too! That's a beautiful design and I can now give it a try, because I bought your torus stencils. Thanks for the tutorial!!!

I use your rods and styluses. I like the silicone tools also. Brunches not so much I keep trying but am not comfortable with them. When I started dotting my anxiety level was high, but as you said it helps me focus and I can find my center. Thank you, I enjoy your videos and your products.💖💖💖 Keep creating!

Jessica Erickson same here. Dotting helps my anxiety so much. It's a physical/creative/centering/focused meditative calming energy that I get from it. The more I make time for it the more beneficial it seems to be. I'm so glad it does the same for you. Thanks for sharing 😘❤️✨

I use brushes for painting and rods and stylises for dotting. It's so much easier to use the right tools. I also shake very badly but not from anxiety but it does make it a bit more difficult.

Same here. Brushes for painting and dotting tools for dotting. Everyone’s different. The tools make all the difference 😊
