HOW TO PAINT A FACE WITH CHARACTER AND IN YOUR PERSONAL STYLE 

I show the whole process of making a few starts, painting over and improving until a unique portrait emerges. I emphasize achieving a personal style by hard work, making many layers until your voice emerges. My work is typified by a strong black line, and strong colors, this is due partly to being influenced by certain painters and loving comic books growing up, but equally due to my upbringing in the strong South African light. In other words, look to your influences and search what drew you to that way of drawing, or to that artist.
