In this video I go through in-detail every step I take from the very start of the miniature until the end. This is an old plastic Jadgpanther sprue manufactured by Battlefront (15mm), it's a fantastic kit and with the release of German Bulge and the much anticipated bigger cats, I thought it was time to get this painted up.
I also made a little mistake in which I don't show how I highlight the tank tracks, it's as simple as giving it a nice drybrush of VJ Flat Brown. Don't be afraid to go a little 'hard', the brown makes for fantastic weathering too.
Airbrush - Harder & Steenbeck 2in1 using the 0.4mm needle for the base coat and .20mm for the green camo.
Paint Brushes - GW Layer S & Army Painter Insane Detail
Airbrushing paints - Tamiya acrylic range + Tamiya acrylic thinners.
Brush paints - Vallejo.
Washes - MIG Black + MIG Odorless thinners, Vallejo Umbar Wash & GW Black Wash.

Thanks mate, I can finally say that I appreciate how difficult it is filming these videos. I have a lot of admiration for the tutorials you've done and how great they're. I definitely used them to help me with this 😊

I thought painting 1/35 scale was hard but so impressed watching this scale being done with so much ease. 👍

Thanks its a great help. Interestingly my artist daughter mentioned using artists ink pens for the road wheel tyres and black detailing, my detailed painting is a bit rubbish and this is working for me.

Thank you 😁 yeah I've heard that before too, I've never tried it though. I'd love to see the results you get if you do give it a try.

I find for decals, I don't often use a softener unless I want it to adhere to an irregular surface, but gloss varnish first, then add decal, then go over with matt varnish. Then when I spray the model later with the matt varnish coat you cant tell its a decal.

Decals is one of those tricky steps, I've tried a few different techniques and I get different results 😅 you can't really beat Microset and Microsol but I was being lazy 😂

Nice, I like my metals to be metal, I use an old bolt gun metal, then GW nuln oil, but totally get people who dont like that...
@paintingpanzers
@paintingpanzers 2 года назад
Yeah I get that, it's one of those things that I struggled to see worthy until I painted them without metal. You're right though, your method is also very good. I do miss a hint of metal sometimes so I might use it as a highlight one day 😊

I noticed you said you use a rattle can for priming but I've always had bad luck with those and the paint coming out all splotchy. Is there any reason you don't use your airbrush to prime?
@paintingpanzers
@paintingpanzers 2 года назад
My main issue is that I have to setup my airbrush everytime I use it as it's housed in my garage. I haven't had an issue with the Tamiya rattle primer but I know depending on location you could get bad results. If you're in a cold country you'll need to warm it up and shake it really well, etc. If I had a permanent airbrush station I'd probably still use the rattle can purely because it's less clean up with my airbrush (im lazy...) and i hate clogging my nozzles 😊. Have you tried the Tamiya rattle cans?
