I'm just recovering from a long, serious illness from a three plus month hospital battle for life, (oh, it's ok, I made it!) it took over two years to recover and I just caught this video in my feed and you've inspired me to bust out my oils and get back at it! Just subbed! Thank you brother, I love your work!! Jack ~'()'~ Canada
Wonderful again, Allen. It's a joy to watch as your general (not precious) applications of paint gradually transition into delightfully subtle and nuanced touches of detail.
Very nice scene. Great execution. It is wonderful to watch an artist work through the process in real time. I'd love to see an image of any locations (photos perhaps) that inspired this. Maybe it is purely imagined? Coming up with the initial composition is such an important step. Thank you Mr Dixon for sharing this!
Thank you! Cheers! It isn't from imagination but it is from a myriad of different images, a tree taken from here, a hut taken from there etc. It's difficult to put those reference photos up because it is only a very small part of each reference that is used. I hope that helps.
What beautiful artwork. I've always loved oils, but got caught up in acrylics in my 20's. I'm 64 now and am going to invest in some oils...I'll be watching for you all your creations. Thanks for sharing such great talent!!!
Amazing ! You're so talented and deserve so much many likes and subs! I love your vision, technique and the style you paint and teach us, Your remember some kind of Tom Bombadil singing and painting with good vibes. Thanks for sharing and the best of lucks. ♡✰
@@allendixon We are all blessed! Beautiful painting! Just to have our five senses is a blessing that God gave us to not only enjoy our surroundings but keep us safe.
You're very welcome, The base coat is Daler Rowney (no point in using expensive paints for underpainting. The top layer is Rembrandt, M Harding and Winsor and Newton.
