Hey guys welcome to my channel, my name is jenn and I make diy lifestyle and garden content . Today we are going to be giving this grody mini fridge a new life with some spray paint and a bit of elbow grease
I got this mini fridge for free from a friend who was moving . You can see it was previously taped shut with packing tape no less.
It took me quite a while to get the residue off, and I ended up getting frustrated and wet sanding it which worked pretty well!
I could have spent a lot more time with this step getting the imperfections out but The sides and top weren’t my main concern and I didn’t want to kick up too much dust with my palm sander
Once it was roughed up I gave it a good wipe down and dried it off.
I then went in and masked off the seal of the fridge door before I got out the spray paint. I used the colour paint matte aqua by rustoleum for the front of the fridge.
This step takes patience, I didn’t worry too much about masking the handle and hinge so the spray off would act as a sort of primer as I was planning on painting those gold at the end.
I did about 4 light coats of this colour, sanding between the first few coats. Some of the finish was quite dusty with this can of spray paint, it was quite strange but the end result was quite nice Once I finished it off with a coat of clear satin spray gloss

I then went in and masked off the parts that I wanted to paint gold, I this is where some mistakes started happening so learn from me and don’t do what I did which was
Spray the parts gold that I wanted, get a beautiful result first go around and then try to seal it with the satin gloss. It totally ruined the finish. I don’t know if it’s because I didn’t wait long enough but i had to re paint it again which resulted in some drips and imperfections but hey we are not going for perfection here
