Have you tried painting any of the Wizkids unpainted miniatures? If so, what do you think of them? So far I'm pretty impressed although cleaning off the mold lines can be difficult without wrecking detail. Also, in case I didn't make it clear enough in the video - I found this miniature small :P

I've been having trouble getting paints to stick to a couple of them, even after giving them a quick scrub with soap and water. However, the male cleric came out nicely.

Mine have been coming out pretty well and maybe I've been lucky about mold lines because I haven't had that many of them so far, but I've only done 3. The hardest thing is the eyes and getting any detail because they're so incredibly small.

Oo, nice trick with the redhead. Never thought of washing down from a yellow base. Have to keep that in mind for speedjobs. Don't know why but gingers are fun to paint.

Commenting years later.. I have this exact mini for my kid's rogue. I was trying to figure out how in the world I am going to paint something this small. I don't have your steady hands, but I picked up some good tips. I'll be coming back to this!

love the look of this! if you're still having trouble with eyes (i know this video is a few years old now) then i have a bit of advice i learned. holding your breath does NOT steady your hands, it adds more tension to your already tensed body! what i've heard recommended from is to exhale, hope it helps!

So you've just sold me on buying Fuegan Orange next time I'm in the Warhammer store; her hair color is amazing! For Rogues I actually try to stay away from a lot of black and instead use dark grays, purples and blues, the thought being that they operate mostly in urban settings and the color of the shadows is different in an area where you have ambient torch/fire/candle light and artificial structures; plus it allows me to add a little bit more color. All in all, I'm *very* impressed with how the miniature came out, and even more so that you actually managed to paint eyes on her! There are a lot of excellent miniatures out there, both from the D & D and Pathfinder range, and some I'd recommend (based on the idea that there may be a higher demand for certain classes since you're looking at selling these on eBay): - Any of the race/fighter combinations, because a lot of people play fighters. - Rangers (again, any race) - Druids (I'd go with either human or elf) - Paladins (probably human and/or dwarf) - Any race combo of Wizards/Sorcerers.

An idea for your Patreon - at a certain Tier perhaps folks in that tier can request you to video tape painting a miniature of their choice, that way the person who won the vote can paint along with you on their favorite (at the moment) mini.

If you are looking to sell minis on eBay, can I recommend stepping up to some more detailed minis? I have tons of Bones and other plastic minis for gaming, but when I want a character model, I go for either something in resin or perhaps metal. Perhaps a Kingdom Death: Monster or Dark Sword miniature. Of course, there is always just about anything from Warhammer. Great job on the halfling! I try to base mine on some kind of terrain to elevate them, partially so they have a little more weight to them, and partially to have them feel more connected to the other miniatures (as opposed to looking like an out of scale elf or human). Dragonkin may be a popular race to paint. There aren't nearly as many minis on the market for them as the standard fantasy races. Chibi minis are popular, not just with gamers, but with whole different subsets of culture groups and fandoms. You could also try looking into IP based miniatures like the Harry Potter minis from Knight. IPs have a larger audience to sell to. That's a tiny mini! I don't know how I'll paint that, but I want halflings for dark sun, so I'll figure it out! How about the mindflayer with the wrist razor claw, or the helmed horror, or the adult remorhaz? Paint whatever, I'll watch! 🍺💨

@@TheMiniJunkie 82 views and 1 dislike isn't bad. Maybe they hate D&D, or disliked Frotto. Maybe they prefer blondes. Either way, it was a good result!
