I have had the same watercolor kit for over 30 years now. I have brushes that costv135.00 each. but I have always been petrified of doing water colors because I was afraid I would have no control or whatever. you have made me brave enough to go into my nightstand drawer (it's never been far away) and begin by getting those paints wet! thank you!

Nothing wrong with taking your favorite hobbies, and the tools for it seriously. I don't think it's snobby. Now I know what to look for in a nice watercolor brush. Sometimes, people get rude when they know that they couldn't just go to the kitchen or something to find what they need for a new hobby. Those people aren't serious anyway. And I don't know why they speak with the loudest voices. I would be embarrassed to imply that I can't even get a paintbrush. These aren't the most mindbogglingly expensive brushes I've seen. I mean, I just saw a brush that sold for $108. I looked these up, and depending on which, they are around 5-7$ each. That isn't snobby. He is trying to tell the serious painter what to look for in a nice brush, and how to find fairly priced sets. This is stuff that real painters want to know. Go move on if you don't like it. Stop trying to impress the world with your cheapness, and mean spirited quips!

@Steph11love
@Steph11love 9 лет назад
Gosh. I do know exactly what you mean. Nobody has any manners, as long as they don't have to face anyone in person. It's a bad habit people get into, treating everyone like they don't matter, and taking peoples feelings for granted. The more mean-spirited things I see, the more hopeless it seems. People just want something for nothing, and if they don't get it, they spit in your eye. Whatever happened to that old saying "if you can't think of anything nice to say, then don't say anything at all." Everyone is so concerned with sounding clever, or witty. But if the only way to sound clever is to put someones else down, then that's just sad :-(
@DANALDTRAMP
@DANALDTRAMP 9 лет назад
It's just... Clearly things like the internet, RU-vid, these are in theory wonderful things. When I was a kid if you wanted to learn how to draw someone threw crayons at you and maybe paper. And that's it. "What do I draw?" "LOOK AROUND, STUPID. WHAT AM I, MADE A MONEY?!?" Now you have access to- I mean this is greater than the greatest philosophers could have imagined. And a guy who is obviously one of the great artists of the world, sharing his skills for free, it's yours! Take it! Spread it! Love! Joy! And then the reality of giving wonderful things to terrible people happens, just scroll down a little and there's people "Feh. Nnyo. Gack. Yer dum. And a loooser." Ok. Great. So yeah. I sometimes wonder.
@Steph11love
@Steph11love 9 лет назад
NYCNECH I completely agree. It really irks me sometimes. I feel lucky to be able to have access to anything like this. I don't want rude people to determine weather or not we get this stuff (by ultimately making people quit making their videos because of haters). But some people really have their priorities mixed up. Well, at least WE appreciate this for what it is. And that's who they are really doin this for.The ones who like it, and use it ;-)

god this guy is crazy. not in a bad way what so ever. i love how exited he is with how pretty is the behavior of water color. it reminds me of me. i thought i was a weirdo because i had more fun watching the paint blend and move in the paper. ive notice people concentrate mostly in the end product when the fun and emotions are in the development of the paint. my compliments to him ;D

Scrubbing Watercolor: the use of a stiff (hog bristle or synthetic), damp brush to lighten or remove dried watercolor paint from the paper surface. Blot the loosened paint off with a dry tissue. Decent quality watercolor paper is recommended for this technique. There are some demonstration videos elsewhere on YT.
