Hi, I tried to do this, but when i install the decal, even if i apply the micro set before and the micro sol after, it will not look as if its printed on the pad, its quite visible that its just a sticker put on...what am i doing wrong?
Super helpful. Extra clear instructions, and time stamps for those of us coming from the disassembly vid to get a bit of help with putting it all back together. Had Kool aid spilled on the right half of the controller. This video, some qtips and a bit of rubbing alcohol saved me like 60 bucks, so thx🙏.
Regarding the decals, did you clear coat before or after cutting them down to size? Personally I have found that doing after prevents damage to the decal, as doing it before is rendered useless when you trim it to size. God I hope that makes as much sense as it does in my head.
Yes I left them there on purpose. Easier I think to leave them on and paint them while theyre still attatched than taking them out and having an additional piece to worry about.
Nice custom paint job, I was thinking of doing the same but with an airbrush. Gonna try it on an old mouse first. Also, gotta love the accidental blue planet in space you made on the cardboard 😄
I actually didn't sand for this project. I specifically didn't sand to show you that, if you use Rust-Oleum, you don't need to sand. Always primer tho!!
