I love your video. Its pure and sincere. I am so glad you did not cut out the part where you oversprayed the wheel. Note, next time pull that spray can further away from whatever object you are painting. 6-8 inches if not even more depending on the job. Thank you for sharing this with us!
cool man i literally found this exact same cargo box as yours on the side of the road and it was in decent shape. i ordered the hardware kit to make it new again and i want to paint it black. glad i found this video
With the blue cargo box, you'll always be able to find your car in the parking lot! While the matching hub cabs are fun, I think I would have gone with a matching silver so the logo cover-up blended in (rather than looking like a cover-up)
That was my next choice but that would be another $10 in spray paint which is why I just used the blue. If I don't like it I can just wash it off at a car wash and use another color
Hi from high desert AZ. Thanks for cargo box vid. I purchased a used Yakima box that opens both sides...their longest one...going on fire engine red '09 rav4. Want to paint the box red too. My research has all shown that an amazing amount of sanding and topical coating need to be done first to prevent large chunks of paint from peeling down to the black plastic. How long has yours stood up well? Great job, thanks.
Yep, oops, its a thule, not yak. Opens driver & passenger sides. Its about 4 yrs old. I am gonna go for the routine of: 1) clean using paint thinner 2) spray 1 coat Rusto fusion 2x
Hope Noone throws their recycling in there!...but I'd put a ♻️ sticker on it just for sh*&s and giggles. What's with all the high fencing everywhere?..is there a deer problem where you live?..looks like Port Alberni?
Not a huge fan of the color. Love the persistence on the wheels though! Check out the Rightline Gear Moki Car Door Step for easy roof access. And thanks for the tips....going to try the rustoleum on my box.
This color was chosen because it can be seen easily from the air in drone shots in the woods. It either had to be red or blue. Red is a little too eye catching ... possibly a hazard while driving to other drivers in my opinion. Check the opening shot on my Fairyland Loop video to see this box from the air. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-KYb1hGdqEsc.html
I like the blue butthink it would have looked better if you'd have sprayed it the same colour as your car . I'm thinking of spraying mine white . Also you can buy a step that hooks onto the door frame catch .
Your paint skills may be as bad as mine (and that's saying something). You're as lazy as me (not taking the wheels off to pop the center caps). So I gained very little from your video. But I gave it a like because I have NEVER seen a CR-V with BFG A/Ts! Well played, sir!
