In this tutorial, I'll show how to paint a Spaniel's ear in acrylics. This can be a tricky element to get right so the layering process needs to be simplified to ensure it doesn't become overwhelming. The way we use the brushes and follow the fur direction, length and thickness will help to add that flow and movement to the fur. As always, contrast plays a huge role and the values need to be right. The way the fur overlaps will create shadows so having the range of values will help the ear look three dimensional.
