I realize this is an older video, but I had not seen it. I really love hibiscus blooms, and your tutorial is wonderful!! Thank you so much! I can't wait to try it!! I appreciate all the help I get from watching your paintings!❤ Please keep up the great work!!
I have watched this quite a few times now to try to memorise all the techniques being used. My first attempt was awful and I realised I was being much too impatient and must wait for different sections to dry thoroughly before carrying on. I was also using too intense colours. I then just practised the petals and got a lot better. Next I will try to do a full version again but take it much more slowly. I really love your videos and I am learning so much from you. Thank you. Your book is on my Christmas wish list!
Thank you Harriet! I love hibiscus and here in Florida I see all sorts of varieties almost daily. I have quite a few photos of them so best give one a go now that I’ve had your help. Thanks to for the layering up veining part too. I’m never happy with my veining, but must give that blending trick a try. Blessings to you!
This was so lovely to watch I love your videos always very relaxing. I shall have a go at the hibiscus flower which I thought would be quite tricky to do.
Harriet this is absolutely wonderful.! I love all your tutorials but I am more of a watercolour pencil person albeit very amateur ! Would you consider doing some animals using watercolour pencils for those of us who enjoy this media please ? X
Hi Harriet! This is now my new favorite painting of yours. Absolutely beautiful! Happy to say that my brushes arrived yesterday, and my palette should be here later today. Cannot wait to get started! Can you give some tips on signing art pieces, please? Positioning, color, etc.
Thank you for the video, so pretty!! I was just wondering what you meant by rubbing out the pencil? I love to draw my paintings first and not sure how to get rid of the pencil marks. Thanks!! ❤️😊
I love how this looks and unfortunately struggled along the way. I felt like I was doing a watch-pause-paint system that didn’t serve my flowers well at all. (The edited drying time didn’t translate for me - HA) Also, I didn’t have the exact colors in my palette - so my center dark red color didn’t have that light ‘kiss’ that you shared. I’m not sure how to overcome my angst at not being able to do what you share.
Thank you very much for all these wonderful watercolor lessons. This one is specially amazing 🤩! Would you suggest the same technic to paint some alcea roses? I am also fond of agapanthus if you are searching for a new tutorial topic. Thank again, I am looking forward to the next one.
love this! i was wondering to use masking fluid on the stamens to avoid getting paint on while doing the petals. what do you think of this? love your works ♥️
Hi Jody, I made a video about that a little while back - ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-ZEU07SmeMO8.html - hopefully that will answer your questions
