Botanical artist Sandrine Maugy demonstrates how to paint a tulip in watercolour starting with the colour palette and harmonic colour mixing for shadows. Sandrine then takes you step-by-step though painting the shadows, adding and building up colour, then finishing with dry brush details and leaving the stem until last.
Sandrine is a botanical artist who has been teaching at West Dean College of Arts and Conservation since 2005. She is a member of the Society of Botanical Artists and of the Society of Floral Painters and has won numerous awards for her exhibited work.
