This is so beautiful! I started painting a year ago when my son went to college. I guess you can say that I'm a beginner. I' going to try this because this is the only way I can get my art lessons. I hope that I can do justice to such beautiful work.
There’s a pause button for a reason. And I’m sure even if they slowed down the video you would need to pause and replay sections anyways. Be grateful they are showing you how to create a beautiful wave, not many people do it. Being kind is free
@2011hib WELL KNOW IT ALL, U TELL ME HOW IS IT STEP BY STEP? BECAUSE THE 1 PERSON I FOLLOW & PAY 2 TEACH HAS ALL VIDEOS DESCRIBING EVERY SINGLE LINE THAT IS PAINTED OR DRAWN, SO U TELL ME WHERE YOU GET THIS IS THAT WAY? JUST BECAUSE THIS PERSON HAS BEAUTIFUL WORK DOESN'T MEAN THEY ARE TEACHING U WHAT 2 MIX 2 GET THE COLOR USED OR LINE 4 LINE!!!! U WORRY ABOUT WHAT GET OUT OF TBESE VIDEOS & DON'T WORRY ABOUT WHAT I GET FROM THEM!!!!!
What brand of Acrylics do you use? I LOVE to paint but, I am also new to painting. I am ignorant and unsure to what are quality paints. I usually buy a cheap Walmart brand. Could you tell me what are some good quality paint options?
This is huge for me. I suck at foreground, reflections, and water....! Thanx so much for sharing! I like the condensed version but will check out more from your arsenal!
Very helpful how to video! I had to pause it 2-3 times to ketch what it was saying; so, it would be helpful to leave the caption info up a couple secs longer in your videos, please. Thanks so much for sharing this. Nice work.
Shaun, I am really struggling with waves and your video helps! Could you please tell us which brushes you are using....are they mostly bristle brushes? And are you using white or a yellowish color for the wave tops? Thank you for taking the time to give me some hints.
Most of the brushes used in this video are taklon synthetic brushes. There is a large flat brush, a small flat brush, a fan brush and a small round brush with stiff bristles. None of them are brand new brushes as this painting didn't require any fine detail. The wave tops for this one are white, although you can use a bit of yellow carefully for the light areas.
Hi, I make a light grey mix and add a little burnt sienna or any reddish brown. I then add some blues and white from the sky to create a reflection. The reflection should get stronger on the more distant sand. You can also use vertical or horizontal strokes of white or very light blues and green to pick up reflected highlights off the wave.
This is an amazing video to watch! From nothing you see it develop into a very realistic view of waves on a beach! I think you must be gifted, I don't I could ever manage to repeat it!
This is absolutely fantastic, and perfectly informative to me. It might be that I don't have the exact paintbrush as you, or the exact paint but that doesn't matter at all I don't think. Your method is brilliant, I watched the whole thing transfixed and will definitely be giving this a go later with what tools I have!
+Naomi Wicks Thanks for your comment! The good thing about this one is there are no fine details so you can pretty much use which ever brushes you have. You may have seen in the video I was using an old worn out brush with frayed bristles. Glad you enjoyed it.
I had a go this afternoon... my attempt wasn't nearly as great as this, but I was impressed how good I actually did following your example. if you videos motivate people to get their paint brushes out and practise then high five to you!
Although water does curve to fit a spherical earth, the horizon appears completely straight when viewed from sea level. You need to go up quite high (almost 10,000 meters) before you really start to see the curvature of the earth.
this is really good but its not exactly a how to drawing I mean it's not a tutorial or an demonstration because the whole video is time lapse. l know u put captions and all but u never made a caption about what you need for the painting! by that I mean u didn't say what colour paints u need! But if it had all that I would have painted without a problem! I would have given this a 5 star if it didn't have time lapse or anything like that so yeah! but for know, its only a 2 star! I'm sorry! the painting might be good but seriously make a tutorial dude!!
+YukthaShree Arunprasad Thanks for your comment. I have also added a full version of this video without the captions. I'm working on creating improved and more informative videos and comments like yours are really good because they help me to give you the right information needed to learn and create your own paintings.
