Good way for a young person to learn the use of a spray gun when there are no cars to paint. I remember hearing of a young fellow who started his pin striping business by perfecting his craft on toilet seats and selling them.
grew up in the metal flake days & choppers.....my old man was a legend in the art of spraying ,fabricating. Damm I hope I can one day attempt to follow.
With full respect this guy made it look easy.....well it ain't.Takes practice and patience.Saying that Eastwood products are insanely GOOD and i for one highly reccomend them.Cheers
Mike. I want to do a helmet modeled after the throwback late 60s early 70s Atlanta Falcons. When the helmets were red. I have the stripes and Falcons What would you charge and should the helmet be white to start with?
If I am painting a skateboard deck red and want to add metalflake to it...I know the steps to doing a paint job like this is primer, sealer, base coat, metalflake, and candy...should I spray a silver base coat before the red base coat to reduce the amount of flakes applied?
Just have to take your time and pay attention to the details. Something like this is not a rush job, you have to measure to keep things even and in proportion, and then carefully lay everything out.
Hay there this helmet is fantastic just wondering how many hrs roughly did it take to do ? I'm trying something similar my self maybe one day it will be as good as your work great stuff thanks for showing 👍

Eastwood Company ...You are pushing products that can kill people with older helmets by weakening them due to chemical reaction. Also you are promoting using FILLER!!!!! IN A HELMET..PLEASE EXPLAIN.
if your airbrush has a tip with a hole in it big enough to let the flakes pass. Also, one piece of advice to the paint tech dude. Fiberglass and chemical sanding dust will kill you just as fast as paint fumes will; put on a damn mask before you leave your children fatherless.
@@eastwoodco I will say the final result is pretty amazing. I spend most of my day in a paint booth and I know you guys are a large company so I was a little surprised to see that. I guess if it was just done for demo purposes I can understand.
Looks awesome but.... the fish scales are going the wrong direction. Still a badass looking helmet. I am using a lot of this video to paint my mailbox.
I still have an old half helmet. The outside still looks amazing. Its the inside that needs fixed. The padding and liner are very old. The center pad is missing. Was my very first helmet. I didn't destroy the inside, its was that way when i first started riding. Its a red white and blue American flag helmet from the 1960s or 1970s. This is a video i made of my gear. It has the old helmet in the video. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-UVj0aR-cUXI.html
@6:00 Holy orange peel Captain Citrus!!! I feel so much better about my first few paint jobs using Titan Vaper HVLP guns. Hopefully this is not indicative of the performance of the products used in the video. The design itself, if not the execution, looks good however. I can not give this video a rec as it blows thru way to much information with no important details on actual technique. It is title a How-To. For those that say that the peel will be buried in the clear, you still can and will see it. Look about 1/3 of the way from the 8 O'clock of E in Eastwood @7:33 in the video, where the reflection goes from very light to dark, and you can see it.
+Michael G think you been huffin' what yer sprayin' buddy - -- or you didn't watch the whole video, it's completely free of orange after the final wet sand. people like you crack me up, you just gotta find fault with something, I'll bet you pick the fly shit outta the pepper at every restaurant.
GJH Yes I did watch the whole video, actually several times in parts, and no it wasn't completely free of orange peel. I pointed out in the the video of the finished product where there was a noticeable amount and you can't wet sand metallics. Clear can only camouflage so much when shooting metallic candies. As for the huffing comment, feel free to huff some of the paint that I've sprayed, you'd be dead in short order. This is a video by a company which is basically showcasing their products and the results that can be obtained by them. Thus, the video is not only lacking in key content, it makes you wonder about the quality of their products if this is the end result of using them by someone with experience.
+Michael G What do you make your own paint and paint products? of course paint companies sell products. your wrong, the finished product was completely free of orange peel. My advice to you is to stop being so petty, they took the time to make a video to teach people - including you obviously, how to do something bitchin' the correct way. wet sanding the color and final clear always gets rid of the peel, if you paint you'd know that, obviously they're shooting an instructional video not looking for perfection --- yet certain dickhead know it alls demand perfection. whatever buddy.
Eastwood Company .. You never mentioned that in your intro.Seems to me you are now covering your arse for a deathly incident. How are people meant to know that your video and ingredients are only meant for show if you don't tell them? Wtf would anyone go through all of this if all they were producing was an egg shell? Over to you.
Hookemups what the hell man?? All they are doing is showing the products they have and what can be done with them. How can you hold Eastwood accountable for what people use the products for??
