I've found that when I paint my base layer, the surface is too smooth/shiny that it's difficult for any additional layers of paint to adhere to it (even when it's dry) - do you have any suggestions? Also - when I paint thickly (no water dilution) and with texture, it's all lost when it dries 😔 is that down to the type/quality of paint?
