Let me know what you want to see next, Battle of Pennelor Fields set, or do I jump right into the Journey of the Ringbearer campaign and paint characters as Frodo sets out on his adventure?
I love Middle Earth Mondays! Gives me the courage to finally start painting my Fellowship! Would love to see you paint other characters like Saruman after you’re done with the Fellowship!
It's BLUE???? No way .... Well damn, it IS blue 🤯. Middle Earth Monday is entertaining AND informative. Pelinor Fields next would be great. I'm interested to see how you tackle the warriors of the dead. I could never get them quite right
For new players in MESBG, battle companies is a very good start getting in the game. So you can maybe think about painting a battle company of your choice.
Great tutorial. I'm a bit late to the game - I last painted mini's back in the early 2000's, with my Dark Angels army. I only recently got back into the hobby after a friend of mine started painting the MESBG miniatures himself and painted a couple of extra models for me to go on my LOTR book shelf. I bought the scenic base off eBay after my brother in law was doing a clear out of his house and found the entire fellowship unpainted, so I'm slowly working my way through. I've just finished Gandalf and moving on to Frodo and Sam next - just subscribed to your patreon while I follow along! Thanks for the great content :)
It’s never too late to paint these figures! What a great find-the whole fellowship! Once you get through this playlist let me know if there’s any other tutorials you think would be good, trying to get back to Middle Earth Mondays again soon! And thanks so much for joining the Patreon!
Thanks for this video, love the series! This is one of my favorite versions of Gandalf, and I stopped painting him for some reason. Maybe this will give me the nudge I need to get him done.
Just had a week off for a holiday. Now I'm coming back into painting with a plan, and I'll finally be finishing up my favourite Gandalf sculpt, the Rivendell Gandalf. I've also got the final fate of the Witch King to finish. Next up, painting Pelennor Fields would be a good series to do. I've still got a box 90% unbuilt. I was saving it for a get started series, but they've got the awesome Osgiliath set out now. Which I think would be a better choice as it includes scenery.
Really loving Middle Earth Mondays! My first reaction was that you should paint up some Moria goblins and a cave troll, but on reflection, the starter boxes are probably a more appropriate starting point, just in case there are indeed people without multiple boxes of stored minis....
Loving this series Andy. Personally I'd like to see you paint the set peices as told by the story. So the fellowship done here as they leave rivendell. Perhaps if you have the models going back slightly (I'm gunna murder the spellings here) and doing attack on weathertop, arwen on horseback carrying frodo being chased by mounted nazgul. The battle in balins tomb, battle at the bridge of kazhad dun. Amon hen and the split of the fellowship etc. Etc. Seeing you paint a wounded and dying boromir will be super sad.
Thanks so much! That’s exactly what the journey of the ringbearer would be! It’s Frodo and then Sam leaving Bag End, first encounter is Farmer Maggot 😄 I would be painting everyone they meet along the way in order! Unfortunately for you it looks like fields of pennelor has more votes so it might be coming first but I will get there!
Don't really care what order you do them in, I'm kinda excited to see you do them all. I'll never own any of these, but I do have a bunch of the old '70's metal minis from Bakshi's film, so I get to live vicariously thru you.
Thanks so much! They’re all coming don’t worry! Yes I can of course explain that tonight, in the meantime I did make a little video on it but please ask me anything tonight! ru-vid.com51Hx1uTmtSw?feature=share
Sometimes it's nice to keep old stuff painted as they are, but then again we have so much better paints now and things are just easier! Plus these models do deserve to be given a fresh coat of paint every 20 years or so :D
had to go a little off script on this one since my Gandalf is the one from the Balrog set but the video certainly gave me a great template to work from!
Thank you for the tutorial on the Fellowship of the Ring . My father is a huge fan of the books trilogy so I read it when I was 10. I'm into Fantasy, SciFi etc... since and I am 36. This series inspired me for his next birthday gift: I found the box on amazon and I will definitely paint it the way you teaches us! Quick question I wanted to ask, are you Irish or a another regional accent? I said that because I'm french, working for American Express so I'm used to talk to a lots of people from Texas and Seattle. You speak somewhat fast. This is not a bad thing because since I watch your tutorials, I have made real progress in English. (Thank you for that also)
