I LOVE how you print commentary on the screen and don’t constantly chatter about what you’re doing. It’s so much easier to absorb the information. And it’s calmer. I’m free to just watch and learn. 😊

@@helencampbell I do too. It reminds me of years ago when I painted with acrylic in the sense that it's so opaque and blendy. I have the same Holbein set you do but sadly 2 of the tubes somehow dried out >.< I won't toss them though because I can still cut the end off the tube and use water to reactivate it even though it won't be the same creamy consistency. It's a really fun medium. And really forgiving lol

Wow. I am inspired! Is gouache more like acrylic? How is it different from watercolor, aside from the opacity? When you follow a tutorial on patreon is there a time limit to finish it? I mean, do I have to keep up with you?
@helencampbell
@helencampbell Год назад
Hi. Gouache is water based so you can re-wet it whereas once acrylic is dry, it’s dry. All my Patreon tutorials are using watercolor and you can work at your own pace. Once you are a member you will have access to all the tutorials as well as a new one every month and a mini monthly one too depending on your membership level

I’m setting a reminder for myself to join your patreon class at the first of the month. I’ve heard that you are charged at the first of the month even if you join late in the month. Hmmm… now to decide how to spend the $4 I saved! I was seduced by your comment that even people who don’t think they can do it, can do it with your system. I really want to get better at shading and layering. Right now i feel like i just use watercolor to add color to my drawings, i don’t use it as it was intended, with all the glazes and blending and layers. A while ago I tried the rosemary Co spotter brushes you suggested. They are my favorite brushes! Thank you for all you share.

@@cathybates4739 hi, Cathy. You no longer have to wait until the first of the month to join. Some creators still do that but lately patreon have given creators the option to bill at any time which I have implemented. Whenever you join you pay on that date now and are billed on that date.
