How to Paint Grey Knights Armour

A short guide, showing how I painted the silver-blue armour of my Grey Knights for Kill Team. I tried to keep this method as simple as possible so I could paint 10 quickly, without too much bother.

Grey Knights Steel and Drakenhof Nightshade does it for me loo

Same, I prime belcher from a rattle can, airbrush GK steel, wash it down with drakenhof then do like a edge drybrush with stormhost, it sounds like a lot but you can really do a lot quickly

Is that a home made wet palette? It looks like a systema lid with a kitchen cloth and maybe grease proof paper? That’s a fantastic life hack. Though I’m very new to “the hobby” so I’m sure I’ve a lot to learn that’s basic knowledge…

It is, yes. Baking paper works a treat in a home made wet palette.

Parchment paper is a fantastic replacement for palette sheets. Most people I know made their own wet palettes with a sandwich box, a wet folded paper towel (in place of the sponge) and parchment paper (not wax) for the palette sheet.

How do you keep the dark shading from completely overtaking the blue in the highlights? Do you just thin in out beyond what you did for the blue?

Hi, Im thinking of starting to play/collect/build/paint WH40k - loving the lore and to watch games so far, and I love the Grey Knights. Could you please tell me a quick list of vallejo paints to buy to get started, bearing in mind that i`ll be painting gray knights? Also, complete noob question, what is that black squared mat everyone seems to use and is in the background of your video? Is it somethng to protect your table or something?

Great work! If you use Talassar Blue instead should you mix it with the base colour? :)

Yeah, I would recommend mixing it with the base colour. As the paint is so transparent, you could even go in with just the Talassar Blue for a second coat. That should give you some extra colour, if you needed it.

I was recommended this video I have no idea why. Nothing against what is going on? I understand that these are figurines or models that are being custom made. What the other two people said, when it comes to Warhammer and other miniature-based games, people like to paint them. It adds an extra connection to the armies you build, and it's pretty fun, too
